Unfortunately, it looks like this project was too hard to execute. Nothing looks like the "celebrity" photos. This looks more like an experiment in 'interpretation' and not 'replication'. I do appreciate that staff took the time to attempt the looks.

Interesting, but, I think it would be better if the after was posed the same way as the celebrity. Would be able to see it all much better, as it is - I don't think the recreation looks that much like the celebrity here.

The photographer should have used better lighting. Needed to use a reflector under the subject's face to even out skin tone.

As a portrait photographer, let me make a suggestion. When you photograph women's head shots, use what I call my magic light. You take a piece of white cardboard, size 8 1/2 x 11, and hold it perpendicular to the model's face, down about shoulder height, out of the view of the camera lens. Move the cardboard straight up and down to figure out where you should have the model or an assistant hold the card. What you see to the naked eye is what you get in the photograph.. This softens all shadows and brings a nice glow to the subject's face. Try it and look in the mirror with the white card held perpendicular. You will want to have this on your face always. not just for photos. (But we can't do that in everyday life.) Photographers who would decide to do this will see a remarkable diference in a woman's face. I have tons of clients who come to me so that I will make them look good. Unfortunately, it was not the case in this series of photos. Too many shadows were on each model's face, detracting from the whole purpose of this exercise. Better luck next time.

As a portrait photographer, let me make a suggestion. To even out the skintone of the subject and especially for makeup photos, take a solid white piece of cardboard, and out of the view of the lens hold the cardboard perpenducular under the face of the subject, about shoulder height and out of the photo. I call it my magic light. Try it - you will be amazed at how much better you look because it removes shadows and evens our your skin. I would love to wear this tray like "light" all the time - strapped on over my shoulders.

The hairstyles were good replicas (although the last slide was kind of lame, because her hair ALREADY is naturally like Richie's, and she just threw a little product on it and let it air dry).The makeup looks weren't very similar to the ones on the celebs, with the exception of one or two.

i have to say the model cannot puul off half of these looks period. the purple eyeshadow may have looked better had she used a better brand maybelline sucks big time i never use anything from them, milani had an amazing eye shasow called "shock" it was a fantastic purple, id use a thick eyeliner/shadow stick to act as a primer in the same color and then apply the purple shadow over and it would stick and stay all day i swear i used to do it all the time it looked so pretty..the models makeup looks cheap and generic .

A tip...if an eye shadow is cakey..add a bit of moisturizer...smooths over perfectly:)..mascara clumpy?...add water to tube...spray hairspray on wand...voila fixed..and lashes stay in place....I could go on...these r low budget make up lines. There r tricks to each one of them...improvise ppl!lol

In this one, the copycat lipstick looks chintzy and the original looks lush. Maybe they used gloss on Ashley and it's the matte on Jane. Jane needs a lip-liner to get that crisp edge. Also would've used cocoa in the crease, not just lilac.

Point in brief: if you already look good, you can easily make do with drugstore products; and if you are about as beautiful as a toad, no amount of luxe cosmetics will help much anyway (proof: Nicole Richie), and drugstore options will at least save you money.
