You probably heard about this first one: Rainbeau Mars (actress, yogini, granola cruncher in chief) was labeled Bridezilla this week after she invited her wedding guests to participate in a three-week vegan cleanse prior to the ceremony. read more
Today is National Strawberry Shortcake Day, which is an excellent excuse for us to spend a few hours flipping through food porn to find the most interesting recipes. It is peak strawberry season, and we love this all-American classic because there are so many tasty variations out there -- from gluten-free shortcake to ice cream sandwiches. Dig in! read more
The safety and effects of Bisphenol A (BPA), a compound found in certain plastics used in food containers, made news again this week when a new study published in the journal "PLOS One" found that tween girls (ages 9 to 12) with higher-than-average levels of BPA in their pee were twice as likely to be obese as girls with lower-than-average levels. read more
During the two minutes you brush your teeth (and the extra minute it takes to floss ... you are flossing, yes?), try relevés -- heel lifts with the legs straight. Mahri Relin, founder of Body Conceptions, explains that this repetition strengthens and tones the calves while challenging your balance. read more

My posture is mediocre at best. It's been that way since middle school when a mean girl told me I "looked like a bitch" because I stood up too straight. Ouch. *Slouch* read more
The most basic, life-saving hygiene -- washing your hands -- takes about 20 seconds. The Centers for Disease Control says this simple task can prevent the spread of deadly foodborne illnesses and infections and curb your chances of catching a cold or the flu. And, yet, 95 percent of us aren't doing it right, according to a study by researchers at Michigan State University. read more

So, it turns out Kim Kardashian's bizarre $1,500 vampire facial (which created a stir after airing on an episode of "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami" in March) may be just the tip of the iceberg in ghoulish beauty treatments. Now, a similar procedure may be the answer to your man's worst nightmare: baldness. read more
Hoping to squeeze in those 10,000 steps a day? Unlike a lot of other pedometers that need to be strapped on, iTreadmill works even if your phone is in your pocket or purse (waaaay less nerdy). read more
National parks around the country are havens of natural beauty and historic significance, but until now, that description never jived with the food sold at concession stands in places like the Grand Canyon or the Statue of Liberty. (Unless you count hot dogs under heat lamps for a questionable amount of time as "history.") The National Park Service recently introduced new food standards for concession stands at all national parks, calling for healthy options like fruit and vegetables, smaller portion sizes, low-sodium and low-fat meals, and non-sugary drinks to be added to menus. read more
Who doesn't dread going to the dentist? Sure, you might like the squeaky-clean feeling of polished teeth right after your appointment, but you only go twice a year because dentists make you feel like your teeth will fall out, otherwise. read more

Go ahead and file this one under horrifying-new-weight loss-trends: The Tongue Patch Diet.

Let's address the Ganesh (err, elephant) in the room. You wear yoga pants regularly. But you actually practice yoga...maybe...once or twice a month? In this week's surprising nutrition news ...
• Vegetarians might live longer than meat eaters. OK, maybe this one isn't a total shocker given the super powers of veggies, but still, a very large study found vegetarians and vegans have a 12 percent lower risk of death than nonvegetarians. More surprising: Men may benefit more from a vegetarian diet than women. Might be time to make Meatless Mondays mandatory for your dude. (Source) read more
