They completely skip a whole under tone category and that is neutral! And yes, you cna be neutral....which usually means that you look equally good in warm or cool shades. I am a true neutral, having found that out working for Prescriptives back in the day and not fitting into any of their 4 color categories. LOL

This is good in theory, but I have fair skin and brown eyes, but I burn instead of tanning. So I don't fit well into these categories, plus I have red hair so several of their suggestions would just look ridiculous on me (I know because I tried them in my youth...oh how I regret that peach lipstick phase...).

I don't think so..... my skin is pink, yellow and orange!!! I either get a foundation that makes me look like I have a mask on or I'm too pale!!! LOL

I like to experiment and not be tied down. Sometimes I find colors that I didn't think would work and now are my go to favorites.

Forget the "rules"! Find shades that you like, and that look good on you, and wear them! Makeup is for having FUN with, so have fun with it!

I agree with the reviewer who said she wished the article had been arranged by skin color rather than product type. Also, a Prescriptives sales associate typed my skin color years ago as being "on the cusp of red/blue and yellow/orange", so just "cool" or "warm" recommendations don't work for me.

Great tips! I wished it was arranged by skin color and not by product type. So I can go to my skin color and not have to look through products that don't work for me.

I do not limit myself to one or two eye colors. I play with lots of colors, and I am always complimented on how it makes my eyes pop or how pretty it is. So don't be afraid to experiment a little if you like. You might be surprised to find out that colors you never expected look great on you!

I don't know if I'm warm or cool. But I didn"t like the color suggestions for warm skin. Nobody has naturally peach cheeks or lips.

I'm pretty sure I'm warm--although I didn't know it for a long time and kept buying cool toned foundation, which looked terrible on me. The rust colored shadow does not look good on me.

I've never been able to tell if I'm warm or cool, no matter how much I try. I put on gold and silver, put the white paper to my face, looked at my veins, you name it. I just wear whatever colors look good on me and find them by going to places that give free samples or allow you to return makeup.

My veins are this perfect shade of TEAL. I really cannot tell if they are more blue or green and my family and friends cannot either! I should probably go visit a make up counter some time soon.

Good tips, but I'm always confused about the cheek colors for me. I'm a light/medium complexion with VERY PINK undertones and the "experts" always recommend rose and pink shades for me. I don't both using color correctors for my cheeks (because of time constraints).
