With the explosion of gloss, lipstick has become the red-headed stepchild of cosmetics. Yet, this product restores faith in the solid lip goo form. The luxurious, silky lipstick comes in three formulas: semi-matte, satin and my favorite, sheer. It feels light on lips and doesn't budge once it's on. The shades are nicely current and range from buttoned-up neutrals to sexy, shocking pinks and reds. They are highly pigmented so apply with a fingertip for more muted color.

I have tried a few NARS lipsticks but my favorite color is Fire Down Below. It is the perfect crimson lip color! The formula feels very nice on the lips and there is no bad taste or smell. The color is very pigmented and super long lasting. The only thing that annoys me about this line is that it is a tad bit over priced and you get a small amount of product. I stopped into Sephora with the goal of finding my first red lipstick. The sales associate tried FIRE DOWN BELOW on my mouth. It looked great with my coloring and felt pretty good, too. Then, she said the price before tax was twenty-four dollars. *Ouch!* It felt and looked great but the price was a tad high for me to make the purchase, hence the 9 stars.
