Developlus Color Oops Hair Color Remover Reviews

not for me
I had my dark brown hair colored to cover up my grey roots by a "pro". I didn't notice that my hair had orange, brassy streaks until I got home the salon was too far to go back and I really didn't trust them anyway. So I picked this up. It didn't really change anything maybe I was slightly less brassy. I ended up getting some nice n easy the next day and redying it myself. — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

Superb!
This product is amazing. Last year I had colored my hair a dark brown and my ends were so porous, they soaked up the color! I ended up with black ends and brown hair. Ugh. I had tried several products and no luck. I have since colored my hair many times, but still have those dark ends... Until yesterday! I found this at Ulta and decided to give it a try. It did exactly what it said it would and more!! I followed the instructions exactly and rinsed until my fingers wrinkled. I recolored that evening with Nice N Easy, and it was even, root to tip, and no more black ends! Would definitely recommend. — 8 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

The LONG but Necessary Story
Okay so I dye my hair often because my natural is an ash brownish blondish thing I usually can't identify is so hard to get back.I have been wanting to go back to natural since I dyed it dark years ago. Every time it fades it fades red. So I always end up dying it because the bottom part looks terrible. I also made a huge mistake and went to a school of beauty and let some young and scared student make a disaster of my hair. The top was light the bottom was at least two shades darker. Even when I go "pro" or at home dye it always seem to get my hair darker than what I want ALWAYS. So I am close to my natural with a little lighter ring around my hair (slightly lighter but about an inch or two from the top) which I have chosen to ignore. The bottom is brassy so I decide to dye it at home and low and behold I look like Daria. Totally dark. So I cry because it has been years since I was even remotely close to my natural. And I just screwed it all up with a "Light Brown" hair dye. So I search the internet for a solution and here it is.. Color OOPS. the Cheesy box almost scared me away I have to admit but after a couple of good reviews I thought okay I'm doing it. Just a insider information know the instructions like the back of your hand. And seriously don't stop rinsing until your shower is cold. The smell is horrible. Like dead fish or something going bad and once you have it on for 20 mn you have to wash with shampoo and rinse for 15-20 mn and again after another shampoo for 5 mn. I finished and when I got out my top 2 inches of my hair was blonde. Like Bleach Blonde. The rest an auburn color. After drying it with my blow dryer and staring at myself wonder what to do. I decided to do it again JUST the lower half. (I showered for over an hour today.)But when I was done the lower half was a little lighter. Keep in mind I dye my hair all the time. With a no brass dye or something. .If fades in a non flattering shade. This stuff actually worked. The top is only blonde to my recollection because of a students mistake that in turn lightened my hair with the OOPS. But it looks like it slowly fades from a strawberry blonde to a slightly darker blonde. It isn't bad. I had to work today and some people actually said they liked it. I told my friends the story and they just laughed because I tried to fix a "oops" with a "oops" But if you have no hair issues like mine I don't see how this stuff couldn't get the job done. I wish it would have been an item I knew about in my experimental hair color high school days. I will probably need to get highlights and lowlights professionally. But I am glad my hair isn't dark anymore. It only takes away darker hair NOT lighter. So if you went light and wanna go back this IS NOT what you want at all. A good idea is to use a deep conditioner right before you leave the shower when you are all done. Your hair will be like straw but it will also be porous so it will soak in the conditioner and won't be that bad. Hope this extremely long review helped someone out there. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 9 people said helpful

Works, but a Pain to Use!
This stuff works, but you really have to follow every step to the letter. I didn't rinse for long enough, apparently (although I rinsed for the indicated 15 minutes, the instructions noted more rinsing could only help). What happens if you don't fully rinse all the product out is that, while it will look the way you want it to that same day, the next time you shampoo it, the darker color will come back. This happened to me, but only at the ends of my hair (that had been dyed the most over the years) and the discrepancy in color was so great and unattractive that I actually cut those parts of my hair off. You also need to use a color filler if you intend to re-color your hair the same day, so this isn't always an emergency fixed. To top it all off, this stuff smells very strongly of sulfur and I was gagging while using. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I recommend bleaching (try the bleach in the approx. $6 Splat color kit) and starting over. Five stars because it does actually work - it's just suuuuuuch a pain. — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Follow the instructions & See the results
My original intentions were to lighten up my color from a very dark brown to something that I could dye over to make it just a bit lighter. After reading a painstaking amount of reviews (and some horror stories) on this stuff, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy it. And I have to say, I'm happy I did. I will admit that the process is NOT fun. When you put this on your hair, be warned, it is extremely watery. Wear old clothes, wrap a towel around you, just do something because it's going to drip. Along with that, you kind of have to work fast. I have longer hair, but it's pretty thin so I only used one bottle. I saw a lot of people that complained about the smell. I won't lie. It isn't pleasant. It starts off as this really strong chemical smell, and then the sulfur kicks in while its sitting in your hair. Its definitely not unbearable, though. I let it sit in my hair for the recommended 20 minutes and then I went to rinse. This is, by far, the worst part. I shampooed, then rinsed. Shampooed, then rinsed. Repeated that for a total of 40 minutes in the shower. But hey, it does say that the longer you rinse the better the results. After I got out, my hair felt like I'd been sitting in a chlorinated pool for 5 hours. It was pretty dry. But I put in some conditioner and it was pretty much back to normal. I'd say that there wasn't much more damage than if I just died my hair. This is the best part though. After my hair dried, I was just in complete disbelief. It was light brown. The results were so flawless that I don't even want to dye over it. In conclusion, this stuff is relatively cheap and so so so worth it as long as you follow the directions. — 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

loved it saved my hair
I colored my hair red i wanted to it change because i was sick of the color. I dyed my hair a light blonde thinking it would be enough to get rid og the red. When i washed the color out i was in disbelief. My hair was still red. I was looking in online and found a review of color opps, so i bought it. I just did my hair and was in shock how it took my red out so easy i finally see the results from the light blonde i tried to dye it. I used my blowdryer because i know heating your hair gives faster results maybe that was a trick . I have long hair so when i was reading the instructions i was scared i would need another box but i didnt need it. 1 box was enough I loved this product and would recommend this to anybody. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

color opps
So my hair was extra light bleach blonde when my hubby decided I sd try Choc brown. I had it about a month and a half when I tryed to lighten it with a light brown that did nothing except turn my dark blonde roots red. Yesterday I used two boxes of color oops because my hair is long. I am happy with the end result. The disgusting brown has lightened to a color very close to my natural color. While I will have to bleach it again to achieve my goal of a light blonde color I don't think I could have done it with out this product. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Waste Of Time & Money. Wish I never used it. :(
Another long but needed story... I Just used Color Oops tonight for the first time, and I am sooooo mad and angry. I did about 2 1/2 hour or more of research before I bought it, and *most* of them seemed very positive, so I was willing to take the risk. I have bright/medium pink (magenta hair). Underneath was what blonde before it went pink, green months and month before that for almost a year and black before that. I followed all the directions and my hair is the UGLIEST shade of medium/dark blue. If I could have know it was going to do this, I certainly wouldn't have bought it and just would have used a wee bit of bleach to get a lighter pink/blonde....Cause thats what I wanted and thats what I thought this product would do, since the color before it went magenta, was super light blonde...almost white. The magenta I used was Punky Color, and after having it pink for 4 months with no re-dying and tons of washing with head and shoulders (which is supposed to fade color) It was only maybe a half shade lighter than when I originally dyed it. So so mad. Hope this prevents someone else with similar hair color from making the same mistake I did. I was trying to be kinder to my hair by not bleaching it, but I really wish I could turn back time now and never NEVER have used this product. FML. Luckily, I wear wigs daily (cause Im trying to leave my hair alone and let it grow and get healthy) Guess I'll just continue to do that....And be lucky I dont have a boyfriend in this country who would have to see this disgusting color on my head everyday and every night. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

Didn't work for me.....
My Story: I've been going to salons for 6 yrs and with my $ situation, could no longer do so. The last salon I went to my colorist said others had destroyed my hair with permanent colors/bleach- so she put in this past summer reconstuctors/demis for over 2 months and advised me to buy Loreal's Healthy Look to keep my then caramel (light brown hair) using a # 8. *Note: if you have brown hair naturally, the eight will not make hair blond-just lighter brown w/ highlights* Anyhow, I've never had a prob since summer with that color---that is, until I picked up a box that some idiot switched with a# 3!! I was in such a hurry and used to it looking dark that I didn't notice for 10 mins....by then it was too late.:( Midnight black hair!). So after totally freaking out same day I got my bf to get me two boxes of Color Oops (BTW:Developlus really need to include a neutral filler pack for that much $ so you won't have to go searching everywhere for it!). SO! Followed instructions to a "T" and nothing changed but it got a bit lighter @ the crown and still dark on bottom. (My hair that was dark didn't turn orange @ all- could've worked with that!) So used another box.....SAME RESULT...this time it was still dark! I was furious because this is a lot of work $ down the drain. I would not recommend this for dark hair color problems; the only reason I gave it 4 stars is cuz it may work with lighter colored hair mistakes and I really think people are overall happy with their results. Not me...I'm embarrassed to go outside and it's ruined my Christmas. Good Luck and I guess I'll be sporting dark, funky hair for awhile:( Happy Holidays???;/ — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
