not for me
I had my dark brown hair colored to cover up my grey roots by a "pro". I didn't notice that my hair had orange, brassy streaks until I got home the salon was too far to go back and I really didn't trust them anyway. So I picked this up. It didn't really change anything maybe I was slightly less brassy. I ended up getting some nice n easy the next day and redying it myself. — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

Superb!
This product is amazing. Last year I had colored my hair a dark brown and my ends were so porous, they soaked up the color! I ended up with black ends and brown hair. Ugh. I had tried several products and no luck. I have since colored my hair many times, but still have those dark ends... Until yesterday! I found this at Ulta and decided to give it a try. It did exactly what it said it would and more!! I followed the instructions exactly and rinsed until my fingers wrinkled. I recolored that evening with Nice N Easy, and it was even, root to tip, and no more black ends! Would definitely recommend. — 8 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

The LONG but Necessary Story
Okay so I dye my hair often because my natural is an ash brownish blondish thing I usually can't identify is so hard to get back.I have been wanting to go back to natural since I dyed it dark years ago. Every time it fades it fades red. So I always end up dying it because the bottom part looks terrible. I also made a huge mistake and went to a school of beauty and let some young and scared student make a disaster of my hair. The top was light the bottom was at least two shades darker. Even when I go "pro" or at home dye it always seem to get my hair darker than what I want ALWAYS. So I am close to my natural with a little lighter ring around my hair (slightly lighter but about an inch or two from the top) which I have chosen to ignore. The bottom is brassy so I decide to dye it at home and low and behold I look like Daria. Totally dark. So I cry because it has been years since I was even remotely close to my natural. And I just screwed it all up with a "Light Brown" hair dye. So I search the internet for a solution and here it is.. Color OOPS. the Cheesy box almost scared me away I have to admit but after a couple of good reviews I thought okay I'm doing it. Just a insider information know the instructions like the back of your hand. And seriously don't stop rinsing until your shower is cold. The smell is horrible. Like dead fish or something going bad and once you have it on for 20 mn you have to wash with shampoo and rinse for 15-20 mn and again after another shampoo for 5 mn. I finished and when I got out my top 2 inches of my hair was blonde. Like Bleach Blonde. The rest an auburn color. After drying it with my blow dryer and staring at myself wonder what to do. I decided to do it again JUST the lower half. (I showered for over an hour today.)But when I was done the lower half was a little lighter. Keep in mind I dye my hair all the time. With a no brass dye or something. .If fades in a non flattering shade. This stuff actually worked. The top is only blonde to my recollection because of a students mistake that in turn lightened my hair with the OOPS. But it looks like it slowly fades from a strawberry blonde to a slightly darker blonde. It isn't bad. I had to work today and some people actually said they liked it. I told my friends the story and they just laughed because I tried to fix a "oops" with a "oops" But if you have no hair issues like mine I don't see how this stuff couldn't get the job done. I wish it would have been an item I knew about in my experimental hair color high school days. I will probably need to get highlights and lowlights professionally. But I am glad my hair isn't dark anymore. It only takes away darker hair NOT lighter. So if you went light and wanna go back this IS NOT what you want at all. A good idea is to use a deep conditioner right before you leave the shower when you are all done. Your hair will be like straw but it will also be porous so it will soak in the conditioner and won't be that bad. Hope this extremely long review helped someone out there. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 9 people said helpful
