bareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer Reviews

Nice, but not the best.
Normally I expect great things from Bare Escentuals, but I was slightly disappointed with this. This looks like an orangey cream, but when you blend it in, there is golden shimmer for luminescence. It just doesn't look good on my skin. As for the priming abilities, I was slightly disappointed. My skin really seemed to become slightly more oily than usual when I used this, and with other primers I've never had that problem. It tends to settle into lines too. As much as I wanted to like this, I was a bit upset that I had to return this only because it was simply not the primer for me. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Prime Time
This is my fourth primer product over the years. I have tried Laura Mercier's both original primer and oil-free primer, and Smashbox Photo Finish. This one may be my second favorite. Just like most of primer products, it makes my face smooth and get ready for foundation. The texture is similar to Smashbox's, a bit thicker side of primer. My mineral foundation sticks and seems to stay better a little, but I don't think it does much for oil control or to hide my pores. All in all, I use this primer for mineral-based foundation, but for liquid foundation, I don't think I would need to use this one. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Smelly but does the job
I love love love primers and this was my first. This primer helped the mineral foundation stay put. However, I didn't like the smell, too pharmaceutical for me. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Organic Like Moisturizer, You Wouldn't Pollute Your Face, Would You?
Preservatives can kiss my face goodbye! Fragrance, oil, parabens, don't even bother. This is a natural primer that contains no toxins that is harmful to the skin or body. I enjoy having this around as I've also found that it soothed any redness I may have before foundation appliction and I have to say that it creates the most flawless application ever. It made my makeup look like a second skin and in no way did this irritate me. If it did anything to my skin particularly, I'll state that the condition it is in right now is better than it was before Prime Time. The main ingredient in primers are dimethicone and for something that can be compared to Smashbox or Laura Mercier, this one wins over the points for being closer inside the budget bracket. Now, for the performance, I've found that this performs just as well if not even better than Smashbox Photo Finish Light for almost half the price and about the same amount. What you're really pulling out the bills out of the bank account for is the main ingredients that perform the most important tasks when it comes to makeup and this does just what it is supposed to without the harsh additives. I've found my skin less irritated, less congested, and less broken out with the use of this and people don't realize that primers are skin protectants so it is quite vital to use one to keep skin looking and being healthy but why not make the better choice of choosing the least hazardous, ultimate performing, and promising primer. One pump for the whole face is all that is really needed, a little goes a long way and makeup lasts longer all day. One word of caution though, if you have oily skin and/or on hot days you tend to find that you're shiny, this doesn't do too much from preventing that but it does aid in keeping makeup looking fresh so I suggest blotting if you're wearing primer instead of powder because it may just cake on and look unnatural. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

A Great Makeup Primer!
This primer is great to prime your face with before foundation application. It will make your foundation look practically flawless and it will allow your mineral powder foundation to look fresh all day on your face until you wash it off at night. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

This product does help my makeup go on smooth... But it does not seem to make any difference in making it last or in shine i am still searching for a good primer this is not it. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

My go-to primer
I love this primer! It leaves the skin very smooth, takes away all shine, and leaves a soft surface for foundation! And it doesn't break me out which is a plus. I wouldn't recommend it to someone with very dry skin; I find that if I have dry patches this primer actually makes them look worse. It's a little pricey, but a lot cheaper than other options at Sephora. I've only used it under liquid foundation, so I couldn't say if it works well under powder makeup. I just know I love it! — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Made me break out!
I was very disappointed at this product! This is an overall good brand, but this primer made me break out allot! Maybe people with oily skin should not wear it! — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Ehh
I received this primer with my regular Mineral set, as the always send you a full size sample with your kit, Im pretty pale with a pinkish undertone and my skin is very Dry. i have to moisturize before applying a primer. The Primer had a odd smell, no problem, most primers smell a little. It also has an orange tone to it, that didn't work well on my skin tone. All was forgivin there, foundation can conceal that issue. After 3 days I noticed a few pimples on my normally clear skin. Didn't make a connection until I had changed my moisturizer and foundation and still had a very Bad blemish problem only on my chin. I thought I was going through adult acne. Bought proactive, which never cleared my skin. I ran out of the primer after some time, I don't know why it didn't set in that the primer may have been the problem. After a week of not using the primer my skin started to clear. It clicked!!! I had a friend that has the primer and she loves it, works great on her olive normal skin, So I asked if I could borrow a small amount for an experiment. Sure enough a few days into using it, ....Pimples!!!! So for me, the the smell, the orange on my fair pinkish skin , and the Blemish problem I received, the only thing that I like about this Prime Time product is that it looks great on my friend! — 2 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

I have the starter kit's primer.
I have the little 1/2 fl oz. tube container from the Sephora edition bareMinerals started kit-not this "brightening one". That one seems like it's close enough to this one, so my review is as follows: It works perfectly fine for me, it feels super soft on my skin and makes it feel like silk; a little bit goes a long way. It primes very well for the bareMinerals Original foundation, and looks natural and smooth. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
