My family has gone through every formula offered by Herbal Essences. We run into the same problem every time...build up. The first 2 or 3 times the shampoos and conditioners worked great and then they starting building up and giving all 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) oily roots, flakes, and frizzy ends. I tried this product because I was hoping it would condition my fine hair that tends to get frizzy. It smells good and does an adequate job, but I really didn't feel like my hair was in any better shape, or that I could forgo getting a hair cut while I was trying to grow it out. I am black, and have a good amount of kinky curly natural hair. I love this because it makes my hair super soft, moisturized, and is great for detangling. I even use it as a leave-in. I used to buy this all of the time! My hair is hip-length and I bought this because it was for long hair! It also smells good! I however have tried some other products and this just doesn't measure up! It just doesn't make my hair as soft or manageable as other shampoos! I would recommend some trial and error to see if this is right for you!
