Stila Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain Reviews

I Have a Crush on This Stain!
Lip and cheek stains intrigue me. There are few that I don't have, and Stila's is one of my favorite. I have this in both "Cherry" and "Pomegranate Crush" (it comes in a huge range of shades, most based on fruits). I am not a huge fan of the twist applicator, because the amount of product it dispenses is sometimes hard to control. But the stain itself is very lovely. Stila claims that it reacts to your own skin's pH level to create a perfect, personalized hue. Each fruit color contains some extract of the fruit itself--I like that! Also included are glycerin, antioxidants to protect and nourish skin, and Vitamins A, C, and E. The stain is a gel with buildable coverage. It dries a little quickly, so begin at the apples of your cheeks, gently and quickly blending until you've reached the amount of color you want. With lips, I prefer to use a lip brush for a precise look, although you can always use your fingers. The stain is buildable here, too. One of the things I most like about it is that the color is not too intense. You will probably want to use a balm or gloss over lips to keep them moist, and the color will last all day. I wear it to amusement parks, water parks, on vacation, everywhere--and I never have to give a second thought to a touch-up. Now that's something to love! — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Stila Cherry Crush Lip and cheek stain
This is a great product. If you use it on your cheeks, it's a good idea to pat it on rather than smearing it or rubbing it in because it will disappear. It's good on the lips, too. The only con is that you have to turn the bottom to get the product in the brush and sometimes you get more than you need. I still gave it a high rating because it looks so good. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

It works!
This is a VERY fast-acting stain if you want rich color fast on your lips. The gloss doesn't last very long, but the stain does. So this is a great stain to have to keep a popsicle-like color on your lips as you touch up with another gloss if you want shine. I love that this doesn't leave a disgusting taste on your lips like other lip stains can. Since this gives a very strong stain, I recommend using this under ANY foundation, not just powder foundation (which is usually recommended to put stains on prior to powder foundation). This includes liquid foundation as well if you want more of a natural and very light color. — 1 year agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Beats Posietint
Dear Stila, Please get rid of your annoying click-pen-brush-thingy applicator. It takes a million and one clicks to get the product going, and then sometimes you get too much. It's impossible to control how much product you use, which wastes one of my favorite Stila products: Cherry Crush Stain. It makes my lips look like I've been eating cherries, and tricks my cheeks into thinking I've been dancing in meadows all day instead of slaving away in a cubicle. I can wear it alone or layer lipstick over it; when the lipstick wears off, I still have my just-bitten lips. It lasts longer than Posietint and the package is too cute. You just need to let go of the click-and-brush applicator and you'll have a perfect product on your hands. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 9 people said helpful

All around spiffyness!
This product is great to have in your purse at all times. You can add color to your cheeks (it gives a sheer wash of color) and lips (great color and lasts quite a while once it dries). I have even used as eye shadow in a pinch (the lighter, pinkier shades). It's never sticky and actually feels pretty good when applied. It doesn't dry out lips either like some lip stains do. A little is all it takes for excellent color. — 3 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries
If you looked up "life is a bowl of cherries" -- crushed cherries, that is -- in the beauty cliché dictionary, you would find a picture of Stila Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain. I might have named the product "Cherry Popcicle Lip and Cheek Stain." Very yummy either way. What it is? A multi-tasking lip and cheek stain. What it is formulated to do: This revolutionary makeup stain moisturizes, provides antioxidant protection and has a unique look on each person's skin, creating the perfect shade every time. Housed in a berry red click pen adorned with a silver cherry blossom design, Cherry Crush reacts to the pH levels in the cheeks and lips creating a personalized blush and pout. In addition to being scented and flavored like a just-picked cherry, Cherry Crush contains cherry and pomegranate extracts to provide skin and lips with antioxidant protection. Vitamins A, C & E are the cherry on top, as they provide further antioxidant protection and drench the skin in moisture, ensuring skin and lips never feel dry or tight. Here is a swatch of the color on my pale arm skin: Here is a swatch of the color as shown on Sephora's site: The "just picked cherry" scent is not in the least overpowering. Most stains I have tried are very drying, but with the added antioxidants and vitamins, this one provides a lot of moisture. Unlike Benetint, which I used for a couple of years, Stila Cherry Crush doesn't seep into the fine lines on your lips or accentuate wrinkles. The applicator is much easier to use than Benetint, too. (I have spilled and splattered Benetint on every conceivable surface.) Like most stains, the staying power is superior to that of lip liners or lipsticks. Although the color faded as the day wore on, the swatch that I applied to my arm remained even after showering! Cherry Crush overstayed its visit. I was ready for a new guest on my lips. Because the color reacts with the skin's pH and is supposed to "have a unique color on each person's skin," I honestly can't predict how well it will work with your chemistry. As you can see from the swatch above, on my skin it is more sunburn rosy pink than red cherry pink. S'okay
This is an okay stain, as in I can see the difference compared to a drugstore stain, but overall I wish I could turn back time and buy Benefit's Benetint instead. This particular stain does its job, but doesn't last long and settles unevenly. — 3 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

10
I just started using this product & i totally love it. I love the flush it gives my cheeks, & the glow. It also looks amazing on my lips. I would give this product a 10. I believe anyone can wear it. All you have to do is blend. Its expensive but so so worth it. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Deep Rose Lips!
This is a high quality product. Moderately pigmented a deep rose, on me. Lasts a long time, even with gloss over or under it. No creeping into fine lines but you must be precise with the brush dispenser as it is a stain. I like the color, wears forever, til I use makeup remover. Mine was a great value as it takes very little product to get the desired effect. The brush is somewhat awkward, but I use it regularly as it is a natural looking color. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Cute packaging, great lip stain
Stila's Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain is a great color on my lips. The packaging is super cute. You twist the bottom and the product clicks into it's own brush. Be careful when using the product for the first time, there is a little lag between the clicks and when the product comes out for the first time, but after it is started you are good to go. I really like this lip stain. It is great for work and day wear. During the day I just add a little spf lip balm and I'm good to go as this product dries on and doesn't provide any moisture, but it's there to stain the lips and stay all day, it's not a lip gloss or lip stick. No touching up needed all day, even after eating. While I find this product looks great on my cheeks as well, I rarely put it there. I prefer Stila's convertible color for my cheeks. In summary, this is a great product and a great color. When I run out, I haven't in months and months, I will be getting another one. — 2 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful
