Staying power - affirmative. Comfort - negative!
As a makeup artist and actor I've come across a million and one occasions where a long lasting lipstick was essential - so you can imagine my excitement when MAC came out with their "Pro Longwear Lip Colour" line. They have a wid...read moree variety of colors and gloss finishes that pop in and out. I like the fact that the gloss can pop out so you can throw that into even the tiniest of clutches for touch ups - and it works towards their recycling program too! What I don't like is how nasty my lips feel when I wear it! You have to be extremely careful when applying because if you don't get the perfect shape before you let it dry, well you're just stuck with it. If you apply too much of the color coat you get a really nice gritty feeling even long after you've applied the top coat. If you eat anything too greasy or oily it will begin to break down the product (but only in certain odd patches so you get some more of that lovely gritty feeling). And when you're finally ready to take this off you better have an intense oil - based makeup remover like their "Cleanse off oil" or Lancome's "Bifacil" and scrub like you mean it or that stuff's not going anywhere! Finally - a Lip Colour that Lasts!
I need a lip colour that is long lasting and doesn't bleed. This lip colour does just that. It goes on soft and I can eat and drink without worrying that it will disappear. Watch out if your little ones get their hands on it......
..the stakes are much higher in the day of M.A.C. Pro Longwear Lip Colour. If my toddler's chin and cheeks from a self applied test run are any indication, than the colour will last for days. Honestly this stuff stays exactly where you put it and that includes the walls! Perfect Wedding Lipcolor
I wore Clingpeach on my big day, and damn, it did everything I asked it too. Gave me fresh, pretty, understated color, and it lasted for HOURS. Through the kiss, through the line, through the toasts, the dinner and the dancing. Re-applied the gloss in the car between the ceremony and reception and that's it. Lasts but is gritty
I bought this lip color in the shade For Keeps, which is a slightly darker version of my natural lip color. It really does last, but the texture is gritty and uncomfortable. I'd rather have to reapply my lipstick than put up with gritty lips. lasts for 12 hours
I get dressed early in the morning and do not return home until late at night. This lipstick makes it through a lunch, a dinner and many deals.
