Banana Boat Dark Tanning Oil Spray

Average member rating of 8.1

Rated a 7.5
An avid tanner (bad me), I don't roast without this coco-banana-scented oil. To get the deep, dark tan advertised on the bottle, skin must be kept constantly lubricated with thick coats. (A pig on a spit comes to mind.) Skin feels extremely oily but super-soft once the oil absorbs. Sweat and oil can cause breakouts. SPF 4 doesn't significantly protect against harmful rays. At first burning sensation, apply strong sunscreen and head for shade before it's aloe-vera time.

    Love that smell!

    by takemethere (3 reviews)
I love the smell of the oil; it has like a coconut-banana smell. it may cause a breakout when you sweat, but it is still a tanning oil. March 19, 2008, 4:39 am

    Good looking tan

    by Capefal (2 reviews)
I love the tan I end up with, but for me I need to shower soon after. I wish they would lighten the thickness of the product and I think we would all use it more often. December 27, 2007, 4:19 pm

    Signature scent with great sheen

I know some people may think that brown skinned folks don't use suntan oil, but I do! Yes, I can burn and peel. December 3, 2007, 10:45 am I know some people may think that brown skinned folks don't use suntan oil, but I do! Yes, I can burn and peel. But on to the product--I've always liked banana boats smell as it is not chemically overpowering, and I've found this particular product to be effective for moisturizing with a little sunscreen and a nice sheen on the skin. It makes brown skin pop, as I'm sure paler users have found when they start tanning. If I need a stronger spf I always use this to top it off and blend the other sunscreen in.
