Beauty Goodies Made in the U.S.A.
Celebrate the 4th of July in style this year by using these American-made makeup and skin care picks
Merle Norman Cosmetics Sure, Lewis and Clark are considered our country's champion pioneers, leading our forefathers to the west -- but what about the leaders that paved the road for women in business? Merle Norman is such a pioneer, having built her beauty company's plant in Westchester, Calif. in 1952. To this day, it continues to be the spot where products are conceived, formulated, and manufactured.
Though Norman passed away in 1972, her great nephew Jack B. Nethercutt II took the helm, making sure it stayed a family-run business. Merle Norman believes in "insourcing," employing 500 U.S. workers who make beauty products that are made in America, by Americans.
