The re-formulated Double Extend uses the "tube technology" to form little tubes around each lash (instead of pigmenting the lash the way traditional mascaras do.) go for the faux, fearlessly
Recently, the Advice Sisters received a package with a mascara from L'Oreal Paris. Double Extend Lash Extension Effect Mascara is a dual-ended mascara that has a Nourishing Base Coat, and a Mascara on the other end. The base coat has Ceramide R and D-Pathenol to protect, nourish and strengthen the lashes you have, and of course, it acts as an anchor for the color mascara on top. Swipe the mascara ...read moreon your lashes and besides leaving the color, tiny tubes help extend the length so they look 60%+ longer. The product is Ophthalmologist and allergy tested so even contact lens wearers can try this one (although the little tube pieces might come off and fall into your eye if you're rubbing them and you're not being careful). The package said that the fragrance-free product would come off easily with soap and water, but to get your eyes really clean, I suggest an eye makeup remover. It's a bit disconcerting when you see the tiny bits of mascara (the tube) in your washcloth! Several coats of this mascara and base coat really did make my lashes look a lot longer. I don't normally "go for the faux," but if you added several coats for holiday parties, this mascara could be a lot easier than grappling with false eyelashes--and almost as effective. less purse space
Finally i don't have to carry around my lash primer and mascara tube. This product handles all of that and actually makes it seem as though i have lashes!! It works wonders on these sparce lashes that i have. And i only have to use one coat from each side. Great value!

LOVE THIS MASCARA!
I'm Asian and my lashes are not short or long but when i use this mascara, i would actually have people asking me if i had fake lashes on. I mean i love the mascara but i was equally surprised that my lashes actually attracted some attention. Dries out fast
LOVE this mascara, big, fat lashes, but it dries out way fast. Only lasted about a month for me. Granted, I didn't use the white stuff, only the mascara. The mascara is very soft and washes off easily with just water.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

time saver
I love the base coat. My lashes are short and kinda thin. With other mascaras I had to put multiple coats on to get a full look. That meant waiting between coats for it to dry before I could put the next coat on. The base coat on this is great. Really fills my lashes out and makes them longer. L'oreal Double Extend
really like how American companies are finally trying to catch up with Asian brands and come out with mascara base coats (Shiseido came out with a mascara base with fiber back when I was in high school). Having said that, I love their idea of putting the base coat and mascara in one product. It is very convenient but the product itself is not that great. The fibers made my lashes too heavy and droopy. It's ok
I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. I didn't really notice anything different for the first week or so, but once I got the hang of applying the base coat, and letting it dry first, I must say I was pleased. My lashes looked much longer. The only hassle is having to take the extra step in the morning. All in all, it's ok.
