L'Oréal Paris Root Rescue 10 Minute Root Coloring Kit Reviews

Really Liked This!
I've been trying different semi-perm hair color as well as different root touch-ups and I really liked this one. The applicator was different but you just have to learn how much to squeeze out of the bottle. The bottle has a sort of comb-in applicator that wasn't the most even application. I ended up with blobs of color in some areas and not enough in others. And it was definitely awkward putting it on the hairline at the back of my head. I prefer just putting the product in a bowl and painting on the color. But this stuff gets a ten rating from me because IT LASTS, it covered my grays fully and there was enough product to even touch up some underlying grays. Not too smelly, fairly easy to use. Will definitely use again. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Not sure yet
Have been using another brand with a lousy applicator, so I liked this applicator better. But the color did not seem to last very long. In fact, I think a lot washed out with the first shampoo. May try a darker color next time. — 2 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Color was great!
Wanted to extend my color so I could color my whole head right before my wedding for the best color and shine. The applicator made it SUPER EASY. Colored my hair before work this morning. Very happy with the results! — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

applicator is awful
I think that root touch-up products are a great idea, but the applicator on this was awful. It took some work to get a decent feel on how much to squeeze out, and with so little to work with, it would actually have taken a few uses to figure out quite how to hold it best. I much prefer the brush of the other leading product. Color was fine, but I don't have time to mess with the squeeze applicator. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Color faded for blonde; use the bottle stand on the box;
I used shade #9 which was initially a perfect match to the 9.5NB Excellence Creme that I use for all over color. I do think the product would benefit from having more shades in the lighter colors, and I had to go to three stores to find shade #9. The product colored my roots and initially blended flawlessly with my hair color. I left it on the full 15 minutes, rinsed well, then shampooed as usual. All of my hair feels ultra-conditioned, which was a nice benefit. THEN.... After about 3-4 days *the coloring lost some of the initial blonde color*. Bleh! I have not had this happen with root coloring from other brands. So for blonde, the product needs to be lighter. This kit differs from other root-coloring kits in that there's no mixing tray and brush. Mixing is done within the application bottle. TIP: *definitely use* the bottle-holder hole that's on the back of the box to stabilize the application bottle when adding the color liquid. Punch out this hole before you get started. Application #1 bottle sits in there as you pour in the contents from bottle #2, put the cap back on bottle #1 and shake like crazy. The bottle is clear so you can see when the product is mixed and how much you've used. I wasn't sure how the comb applicator would work but it's very good - generously delivers the product & gives a lot of application control. The gloves provided look huge but actually fit pretty well, and there's also covers for eyeglasses as well. Overall I will *NOT purchase this product again because the color faded so quickly and I was left with odd colored roots. I took another star away from rating due to the bottle design: bottle #1 should have a much wider opening to make adding the coloring liquid spill-proof. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great applicator, good price, but beware ... "light blonde" is not light blonde!
I had my hair lightened for my wedding and after we got back from the honeymoon, I wanted to avoid going back to the salon as long as possible ... wedding debt, ya know. So, $2 off coupon in hand, I went to Target and bought this product in shade 9 -- light blonde. I found it pretty easy to use and it's done in 15 minutes. BUT ... it wasn't a great shade match for my lightened, ash-blonde hair. It was, in fact, pretty reddish, more like a strawberry blonde, and not very light, either. In other shades, it might be a better match for most people, I don't know. I'm not totally dissatisfied ... it's closer to my lightened shade than my roots were, and it's not a super-drastic difference ... also, it was $5 after the coupon, and saved me from another $60 salon visit. But they should offer more shades so you can get a closer match. — 2 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
