CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protecting Spray Reviews

does the job
kenya (498 reviews)this is just like the chi silk fusion. it protects hair from heat damage and makes it silky. i like it except the silk fusion is better because it allows you to have more control over where you want the product to go. with this spray its not easy to make sure everything is evenly distributed. but it still works fantastically. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not for my hair
TBjunkie (678 reviews)This weights my hair down, I prefer Aveda products — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love it!
lisa2683 (77 reviews)The first time I saw and tried this product I was in CVS. They had a sale on all their CHI haircare products so naturally I wanted to try it out. I never used to use a heat protectant on my hair and I don't know what I was thinking, especially because I straighten my hair pretty much every day with the CHI straightener. If anyone out there owns a CHI straightener, they know that there is only one setting: HOT!! I didn't realize or think about all the damage I was doing to my poor hair. My first use of this spray really showed me what I'd been missing out on by not using a protectant spray. My hair was soo silky and shiny and just felt healthier. And that was only after one use!! Now that I use it daily, I have really noticed a significant change in the health of my hair. I don't have breakage like I did before and it just has this radiant sheen to it that I can't stop admiring in the mirror (ok that totally sounded vain but seriously, you will be staring at the shine in your hair too!). The original price for this spray was $28 but it's a big bottle and you don't have to spray a ton on your hair to see results. And I almost forgot to mention that it smells AMAZING!! If you are in between washes, a little spritz of this and your hair smells great again! — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Pricy, but does it's job!
lanigaga (111 reviews)This stuff was the first heat spray I ever used, because I got a little bottle free at Ulta with something else I had bought. I had never realized that I needed a heat protectant for my hair, well stupid me! My hair immediatly felt softer, and healthier. The only downside, it's like 20 bucks, when I could get my beloved Tresemmee Heat spray for $3. — 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great product
Psy1ocke (147 reviews)CHI's Iron Guard is a product that helps protect my hair from the stresses of heat styling (curling iron, blow dryer) but doesn't weigh it down like other products can (unless, like most products, I use too much of it). It has a nice smell and does not feel sticky. I find that my hair looks healthier after using this spray. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Mixed Feelings
brendag20127 (16 reviews)It kinda made my hair stiff but after a day or two it looked better... not good but better. I have curly hair and its usually pretty frizzy if I don't use the right products. Maybe just not for me. — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

merrx3 (18 reviews)this product does a pretty good job protecting my hair- the smell is nice and i have not had any issues with the spray pump-- a bit on the pricy side for me and i do feel like my hair gets weighed down a bit by this product — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not the best option for curly hair
monconduitm2 (9 reviews)I selected this product because chi makes the best flat iron out their. I have naturally curly hair that can sometimes be a handful to straighten, but the chi flat iron makes my curls transform to bone straight hair. I also love the flat iron because it gives me the versatility to also curl my hair. Now back to the heat protection spray. I expected this spray to be the same caliber and quality of the chi flat iron, but it did not meet my expectations. The spray is alcohol based which is horrible for any hair type, but even more so for curly hair because it is naturally dryer then straight hair. The spray did not dry my hair out, but over time with continuous use I found that it made my ends split really quickly. Even right after a trim my ends would split. This product may be beneficial to naturally straight hair but I would never recommend this product to anyone with naturally curly hair. I honestly would not recommend this to anyone because although in straight hair you many not be able to see the damage alcohol is not good for any hair type. For the price I expected much better. — 5 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

It's just so-so for my natural hair
rozbie (67 reviews)I've had this for years and it is the only heat protectant I use, but that isn't really saying too much. I guess it protects my hair, but I always follow this up with a serum cause my hair always seems dry when I use this. I have coarse, 4b natural hair. — 10 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
