Not for me
I have very thick, frizzy, long and unmanageable hair. This worked fine for straightening it, but my hair would turn frizzy again within an hour. It would probably work better for someone with finer hair. I never used this when my hair was wet; I always blow dried it beforehand. Works fine on dry and slightly damp settings, but I hear that it's terrible on wet settings. The plates got dirty really fast and it would give my hair static occasionally. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Good
The same cautions apply to this as the slim version, but I found this more difficult to work with, even with long thick hair. I found my hair got caught in the plates and heat was not uniformly distributed across the plates. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

It does the job
I have had this straightener for many years and it does a good job. I don't like to use it when my hair is super wet because it feels and smells like its frying. It does dry my long thick hair fairly fast but I have to go over it with my other flat iron. If you're in a hurry it will do. Update: I actually got rid of this straightener after I kept reading how bad it was for your hair, especially when it was wet. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 5 people said helpful
