"Sheer Transformation" is a Sheer Miracle!
Honestly, VOLTA, I'm not copying from you (I'm a teacher and I don't permit "cheating" in my classes)! I've been using Ole Henriksen's line of products and thought that it was time to write about my results. You beat me to it--and your review was MARVELOUS! Unlike you, my skin is in pretty good condition. It is combination by nature, with a T-zone that tends to be oily. My cheeks can be arid, especially during bitter Pennsylvania winters and in dry heat. Recently I've noticed some annoying brown spots on one side of my face; I used Pond's "Clarant B3" with Niacinamide, and this truly has been working to eradicate them. I have no lines or creases yet (yes!), and I want to keep it that way. Too many cosmetic salespeople try to push heavy creams on me; they simply irritate my complexion, clog my pores, and cause blemishes to appear (and I'm hoping to be beyond the age of acne by now). Ole Henriksen's "Sheer Transformation" is a sheer miracle! The ingredients read like a homeopath's dream journal: It is replete with a trademarked additive called "Acti-White," which prevents and even corrects skintone with a combination of Pea Extract and Sugar (my brown spots are history at this point). Vitamin C goes to work to naturally lighten your complexion, while it also brightens and makes it more taut. Licorice is included to illuminate as well. A multitude of fruit acids exfoliate and hydrate. The cream has a lightweight, souffle-like feel, but don't be fooled by it. It is highly capable of moisturizing dry skin; skin drinks it in easily, with no annoying greasy residue. It would be excellent to wear under makeup during the day or alone at night. This is a formidable product, well worth the $45.00 price tag. VOLTA gave some excellent information which I'm going to reiterate here: It's important to switch from an ingredient like Hydroquinone to natural ones contained in this cream. And, in order to keep germs from multiplying, use a spatula and just-washed hands when applying. Incredible!
Just to let you know, I have terrible skin. I work my tail off with my faithful skin care regimen and I can assure you I have tried it ALL. My skin is extraordinarily difficult to maintain and almost impossible to balance. Our skin is a living organ, but my skin seems to have a mischievous mind of its own. It's constantly changing from oily, to dry, to oily AND dry, to dry combination, oily combination--just everything but normal. Not to mention I have rosacea, eczema, hormonal acne and super large pores! That's my back story. I had heard many good things about Ole Henriksen's Sheer Transformation. I received a deluxe sample of this cream with eager hopes of seeing any results. And results I did see! What I ADORE about this cream is how SHEER and lightweight this moisturizer feels. It's a cream, but it's great for even the driest skin. The name 'sheer' is a really good description of this product. It's very hydrating, but it's so lightweight that it doesn't clog my pores and cause breakouts--which is HUGE for me. Second, as Ole is known for, this is a natural hydrator, so it's suitable for ALL skin types, even the most sensitive (like mine). It's very soothing because it has botanical blends in it which nurture the skin. Also, these botanicals lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation, so this is a GREAT addition if you are exfoliating or using products with lightening ingredients like hydroquinone or hexapeptide-2. After using this product, I saw an improvement in the speed of time of lightening of dark acne scars that I got on my chin from hormonal flare-ups. The lightening of the scars continue to improve to where I can cover it up with concealer far more easily without having to cake it on. If you do use a lightener with an ingredient like hydroquinone, you want to stop that after three months and give it a rest. It's recommended to use a botanical brightener for the next three months to maintain the brightening so your skin has time to rest. Then after three months, you can resume the hydroquinone. Sheer Transformation is a GREAT product to use during that time of rest, and you may even see better results if you use Ole's Truth Serum. Ole Henriksen is a firm believer that if you have even skin tone and texture, you will automatically look younger no matter what your age, and I believe this to be true. This is a hydrator that will help you accomplish that. My biggest gripe about this is the price for a jar. It's $45 for a 1,7 ounce jar which is about the size of a standard perfume bottle. You will go through this way too fast and before you know it, your jar is empty. Although this hydrator will deliver wonderful results in a short amount of time, you have to really be convinced into investing such money into this product. DO ask for samples if you go to Sephora. Secondly, yes it is a jar. You are more likely to introduce bacteria and contaminate the product. Do use a spatula in retrieving the cream out of the jar, or make sure to wash your hands very well in warm water. Sheer Transformation Cream
This cream was included in the package of Ole Henriksen Products through Sephora's Beauty Insider Points. It is a jar of very thick cream that I rubbed over a couple Chicken Pox scars on my forehead and nose. I also have been using it under my eyes. I'm finding the results minimal on the scar issue but I am pleased with the dewy, glowing results under my eyes. Will I buy a jar? Probably not but it leaves a pleasing glow with a very small amount of product. Supple Skin
Ole Henriksen has a complete line of products that I've actually been testing out the past few weeks and to my amusement, this is actually one of few that I actually believe benefits my combination skin. It is oil free but it can be irritating during application because of the products penetrating into skin, there is also a greasy feeling left on the fingers and face until it sets about half an hour later. While this isn't exactly my idea type of moisturizer, I find it great for the evening since it's similar to a cream but not so light that it can only just be used as a moisturizer. The benefit of this product is that it contains Kojic Acid which is a safer product than hydroquinone. They both have been effective skin lighteners, however, hydroquinone has been linked to cancer repeatedly in the past so this is a better alternative. This is perhaps the reason for the price tag since kojic acid isn't normally found in drugstore products, it's usually found in higher price tagged items. For Ultra Baby-Soft Skin!
I started with a sample of this from Sephora. It has definitely made my skin more even all over. The best part? It is non-greasy, but my face feels just like velvet after use. Sheer Transformation
I love the glow that I get when I use this cream consistently. At 48 years old I still have quite oily skin so I have to be careful with "regular" night creams so I don't wake up with super oily skin and breakouts. Sheer Transformation is a perfect consistency for me for nighttime use, too heavy for me for daytime although the label says you can use it day and night. I really love the scent of all of Ole Henriksen's products and this one has a light floral scent to me which I love. It is a bit pricy but lasts a long time since so little is needed with each use. I got a small sample and tried on my face. this moisturizer is light and sheer, but it made my pores more visible. I tried it for two days to see and both days my pores looked horrible. I have combination/oily skin and this was not the right product for me. It also gave me small bumps on my face. Great and lightweight!
This moisturizer is great and lightweight. I love it for the summer. It's oil free so even oily skin types can use this product. It's a great entry level moisturizer for teens.
