Really tops
I have always been an Opi girl, but I tried Essie and love it. Tons of colors, does not chip, and a good orice. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 12 people said helpful

Worth every penny!
I used to wonder why people would shell out $8 for a nail polish! After awhile, they get thick and gunky and you have to throw them away, and I like too many colors to invest in nail polish like that. Well, that was until I picked up some Essie and some OPI. While I never pay full price for them (I get them on sale or on clearance), they'd still be worth the $8 if it were a color you wore often. The quality of the nail polish is much better in general than that of drugstore nail polishes. They don't chip as soon as drugstore polishes do. I own Body Language (a pale pale gray that has just a touch of light pink in it), and Infatuation (Barbie pink) and love both of them. — 3 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 15 people said helpful

Essie is very good nail polish...
I like that Essie readily available at most drug stores. Essie has gorgeous colors and goes on well. My only complaint is, it chips sooner than OPI polish. Overall, a great, accessible brand for a great value as well. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 4 people said helpful

love!
Essie is the only brand my cousin uses and I dont blame her. these polishes are amazing quality. i used this once for a matte finish and it was the coolest thing i've ever seen on my nails! the colors are very pigmented and veryyy opaque. the lasting power is great too, since it lasted me more than 4 days. i love the variety of colors! its one of the best out there! — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 12 people said helpful

Great polish.
I heart the Essie line. The colors are great, and it's a quality product. I did pay around $8.00 for one bottle, which I find a little spendy. But, overall this is a great buy! — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 6 people said helpful

Good
Essie polishes are good overall. They specialize in classic cream colors. I have only tried a few of their polishes and found that with my body chemistry they do not wear as well as other higher end polish brands. Also, I found the brush more difficult to manipulate. — 2 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Not good!
I have always been a China Glaze and OPI girl, so Essie never really crossed my mind untill I saw Mint Candy Apple which is a light, mint green cream. I bought it at full price(around $8) and the minute I tried it- I wanted to go return it. The texture is SO THICK it seriously took 2 hours for Mint Candy Apple to dry and then it neeed another coat. I don't know if it is just the color, or the polish formula but I HATE IT. I guess I am back to my China GLaze and OPI! — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 8 people said helpful

Love it!!!
I just recently tried Essie Nail Polishes and I love them. Soooo much better than other brands. Totally worth the $8 dollars though I try to get them on sale as well. I love the vibrancy of the color, how beautiful and streak less they are. It really does last a while and doesn't chip that easily. — 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Nice colors but wish the formula was better
Essie is known for great creamy pastel and neutral shades, both of which I love wearing on my nails. The problem with these kinds of colors is that they can be difficult to apply if the formula isn't just right. They tend to go on streaky. Essie is no exception. It is particularly disappointing because this brand is known for these types of shades. For a brand that is known for great shades like this, they should work on a better, easier to apply polish so you can get the creamy, solid color you see in the bottle. I have even brought Essie nail polish into a nail salon for them to apply on my nails (because I have a hard time doing it myself) and the manicurist complained that it was difficult to work with. It took three coats to get a solid color that was presentable and that was by a professional! Now, not all Essie shades are like this. I have several darker, creamy shades that apply easily and wear well. I just wish they would work on making it easier to work with the lighter shades. I have very light creamy shades from Deborah Lippmann and Illamasqua that go on like a dream, so I know it can be done. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Nice selection of neutral colors
I have a few bottles of Essie, I usually don't choose pink nail color, but I was fascinated by this name, Splash of Grenadine. The color is not girly pink, it's more like creamy pink blended with purple/lavender color. It applies and streaks smoothly, and I use two coats. One coat of Essie is a bit too sheer for me. After the two coats, the color is pretty, slightly shimmery and subtle but definitely noticeable. I think the color looks even better on my toes. BTW, when I applied 3 coats of Essie, some polishes peeled off. But so far I have not experienced any chipping. I used to buy OPI more often, but now OPI is getting more pricey. While I like MAC's bold/loud colors, Essie has a nicer selection of sheer and pastel colors. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
