Essie Nail Polish Reviews

Nice!
I like the color selections Essie offers, though I still tend to prefer OPI over Essie. Essie does chip just a little bit faster and I don't like their brushes very much (as compared to OPI). Essie polishes, for me, are usually either an impulse buy or if I see a very specific shade I've been wanting that I can't find in OPI. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

My favorite!
Essie is my favorite brand of nail polish, no doubt about it. They have so many shades in every color category ("wicked" is the best red-black!) and of all the brands I have used Essie is the best for avoiding chips and maintaining shine. I even bring my own bottle into the salon when I get my nails done professionally, just in case they don't have my Essie shade on hand! — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Such An Excellent Colour Range!
OPI still remainds my number one choice when it comes to nail polish but Essie definately takes a close second, for one I love love love all these bold, rich, and vibrant shades offered! OPI has good colour selection to but Essie definately has the better variety in bold shades because OPI tends to be more layed back with their polish colours with the ocassional bright collection such as the Spring/Summer 2011 Texas Collection. Anyhoo this has excellent colour payoff and doesn't chip for almost 2 weeks! My favourite shades at the moment would have to be Aruba Blue and Turqoise & Caicos. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful

Essie Polish
I've only recently gotten into Essie polish. I've worn a slew of their colors on and off for the last seven months and other than one that was WAY too bright (Mojito Madness) for me, my experience with this line has been good. I highly recommend their darker colors and the new Metals line. The brights are a bit TOO bright for me and I had to sell two of the ones from the 2012 Summer Collection because I knew they'd look ghastly on me. If you're going to invest in this brand, I recommend searching for them on Ebay. I've bought probably a dozen of their polishes for less than the retail value with free shipping. Can't beat that! — 9 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Coming to mass retailers!!!
I absolutely love Essie nail polishes. The colors are beautiful and they cover the nail in a minimum of 2 coats! My favorite colors for fall are Chinchilly and Midnight Cami. Chinchilly is a cross between gray and beige the ultimate greige! Midnight Cami is a very dark blue on the verge of black. The only thing that keeps it from looking black is when it catches the light, it has a blue shimmer to it. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Essie
This nail polish might cost a bit more than others. It's worth it. The colors are vibrant and my nail polish doesn't chip off like it does with lesser brands. — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

shop til i drop
love love the color featured on the website and it's called stop til i drop. this is a beautiful coral color. it takes a lot of coats to make the lighter essie colors opaque. — 10 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Another overrated nail polish
Same as I feel about Opi. Some pretty colors but no great staying power or exceptional finish. Overrated. — 9 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Terrific colors, but look before you leap
Essie polishes come in an array of beautiful colors, making it one of my favorite beauty products to shop for. Just be certain that you try each color before buying it. The formula is inconsistent, so while most colors provide a perfect coat, some (especially the whites) can be thin, look streaky, and take at least three coats to be opaque. Using a basecoat doesn't seem to alleviate this problem. And yeah, the much-touted Mademoiselle rocks. — 4 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Not up to the hype
I was sadly disappointed in this nail polish after getting it in Angora and Ballet Slipper. Neither applied evenly, even over a base coat. The brush left ridges that didn't disappear even after applying another coat. I think it's the thin, tiny little brush. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to even out the polish on my nails. Essie has a lovely range of colors, but the polish for me was as bad as the kiddie bottles that can be purchased four for a buck. — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful
