Not up to the hype
I was sadly disappointed in this nail polish after getting it in Angora and Ballet Slipper. Neither applied evenly, even over a base coat. The brush left ridges that didn't disappear even after applying another coat. I think it's the thin, tiny little brush. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to even out the polish on my nails. Good for unique colors - pass for light colors
The color range in Essie polish is fantastic, and I find that it's almost as good as my fav brand OPI. The light colors, however, leave something to be desired. It takes way too many coats to build up the color. My favorite polish
The consistency is perfect. You can layer your color to perfection. The brush is made to assist in applying the polish just right - you should have a thin consistency to build your color, especially if you want pale or nude colors. My Favourite Polish
After discovering Essie nail polish I do not need to try any other brand. I have found "The One". Used with the basecoat and sun protective top coat, the appication lasts longer than any other I have tried. The colours are classic and suitable for any season/fashion. When I have professional manicures I take my own Essie polish. Lovely colors, good quality
I'm ADD with my nail color so I can't really say for certain how long this brand lasts, because it's never really on for too long. I've had only one color (Over the Edge, a silvery-black/gray) that came out terrible. Dried really matte and did not look good at all. But the colors are all really pretty and true to the bottle with two coats, I've found. I use a Sally Hansen base coat and a top coat and it works just fine. My current favorite colors are Raspberry and a gorgeous purplish-fuschia called Big Spender. pretty good
I finally found these in my town and decided to get a couple colors. Love the color. Does go on a little thick and lakes longer than I'm used to to dry. It also doesn't seem to wear as well. Put this on Friday night and already showing spots where I must've bumped my fingertips on something. Never had that problem with other polishes before. All hail Essie!
No other nail polish company has made more classic colors over the years! Although I choose OPI colors more often now, there are still Essie classics that I continue to wear. My long time favorties are Marshmallow and Ballet Slippers and have been for years. My new favorites have been Waltz and of course, Wicked. Great Polish
