For those who want the best of both worlds, these slim silver cases hold the rich color of a lipstick and the soft sleekness of a gloss. Unfortunately, the Almost line comes in only four shades -- considerably fewer than Clinique's Different Lipstick -- and has a much shorter lifespan on your lips (the color slips after a few sips of water). Apply with a brush over liner for more longevity.

My first "almost lipstick"

My aunt gave me this in "black honey" when I was a young girl getting into makeup. It's nice and smooth, with a hint of color and a bit of shine. The tube is pretty and sturdy. The price is okay for the amount of product. It does moisturize a bit, and isn't drying at all. It wears off after a couple of hours, but doesn't leave "lipstick ring" around your mouth. I got Almost Lipstick in Black Honey as one of the Gift with Purchase items a few years ago. It looked too dark in the tube, but when I applied it, it gave my lips a nice red/brown berry colour, which may be too subtle for some people. My lips felt smooth (but not shine) and I liked the natural looks which fit to my skin tone.
