I have never used an oatmeal-based shave gel before, and I was curious as well as skeptical about a shave gel by Aveeno, but I don't regret buying this one. I have been using Satin Care for a long time so the natural scent of this gel is a bit new and weird for me. But it gives very good & smooth shave. The texture is rich, but does not leave any residue on my skin. It is more expensive than my regular brand, but a little bit of it goes a long way. I used this on my bikini area in hopes that my razor burn would be gone, but alas.. it's stil there. Although there does seem to be a tiny bit less razor burn, it's still definitely there.
