Dry skin types who usually reach for a rich, heavy cream will love this lightweight blue serum. It not only instantly hydrates, but also makes skin a perfectly smooth, youthful canvas for sunscreen, primer or foundation. One or two pumps of the hyaluronic acid formula will cover the whole face (use more for the neck), sinking in quickly without any slick, tingling residue. Skin retains a slightly dewy appearance but remains easily layerable with other products (although another moisturizer likely won't be necessary). Drugstore serums by brands like Olay work about as well, but the sheer perfection of this effective formula, along with its signature Chanel scent (a bit like Chanel No. 5 and fresh apples) is worth a splurge.

    I have oily skin and was talked into purchasing this product from the gal at the Chanel Counter.... Boy was she GOOD !!! I use this ONLY when I wear foundation and it really makes my foundation go on smoother and look flawless !! Love this !! May 4, 2008, 5:22 am

    chanel girl gave some samples to try...loved it. I have bought 3 bottles since (yep..never ever thought i would splurge..$100.00 for a lg bottle..but i did) and i have received more compliments on my skin with..or without makeup on. My skin was dry & is sensitive & have rosacea...at times...but,this has really chang...ed the apperance of my skin. LOVE it.... worth the money. I have tried everythhing to moisturize my dry skin without irritating it. This works February 22, 2009, 3:13 pm

    Not worth the splurge

    With alcohol listed as third ingredient, dry skin is not going to benefit from this product. The fragrance is verystrong and lingering. August 12, 2008, 11:32 pm

    Texas is dry - dry and hot in the summer (as in right now!) and dry and cold in the winter. I've used serums for a long time, but found lately that my face still looked dry and chalky - and wrinkly by mid-day. This serum is deceptively light, not at all greasy, absorbs quickly - and keeps my skin looking dewy fresh virtual...ly all day. It's simply the best aid to moisturizer I've ever found - and I've tried most of them. I'd give it at 10+ for effectiveness (my score of 9 is based on its price). August 26, 2008, 8:57 am

    great product! esp. for dry skin

    I have dry & sensitive skin & was amazed this product didn't irritate my skin. I use the active moisture BOOST under Chanel's active moisture CREAM. I was introduced to these products last fall & am still using them. Also, a little goes a long way. Smells wonderful too! I have been searching for a "good&quo...t; moisturizer for the past 10 years. I have spent so much $ trying all different brands & these two products have been worth the $ in my opinion. I also use Chanel's Teint Innocence compact foundation & the three products together have made a big difference on my skin NOT being dry. Thank you Chanel! October 20, 2009, 4:05 pm

    I absolutely love this product, especially for people who fly or travel a lot and get dried out easily. This is a great product to use as a moisturizer if your a bit oily, however it is most effective when used under a light moisturizer. If you have acne you can still use this, but make sure your moisturizer/cleanser is pro...viding treatment for your acne, as this product is strictly intended to help boost hydration. I get so many compliments on my skin it's unreal, and I credit this product for helping with the tone, texture, and overall appearance of my skin. Yes it is expensive, but it is made by Chanel, not Oil of Olay. If you want something affordable, you should go to a drug store, not a high end department store expecting a miracle cream for under $40. The scent can be a bit overpowering if your very sensitive to fragrance, however I have very sensitive skin and this doesn't bother me at all. Also helps your foundation go on nice and smooth. If you want to try it ask for a sample, because if you enjoy it you might as well get the large size, it's almost doubt the amount for $30 more. July 24, 2009, 8:51 pm

    Fancy Name

    Not very effective. I did go through 2 bottles of this product approx 4 years ago, but looking back, I could have gotten them same level of moisture with a much cheaper product. I need to see the value in buying a higher ticket beauty product, and this one just didn't cut it. The fragrance was pleasant, but it was strong. June 2, 2009, 8:49 pm
