This lumpy, toothpaste-like soap uses vegetable glycerin and fruit oils to condition skin during shaving, but a post-shower moisturizer is still necessary. We love the light, tingly scent of the mint (it's also available in flowery calendula), and the feel-good factor of a natural animal-, preservative- and aerosol-free product. But the earth-friendly element means it doesn't lather up like traditional shave gel or cream, and the metal tube is hard to squeeze in the shower.

    Mixed feelings on this product....

    I am always looking for new ways to go organic so I thought I'd give this shaving cream a try. I am a person all about consistency and this product's consistency just really does not do it for me.I really did not like rubbing basically tooth paste on my legs.I do give this a 6 though because it did not irritate my senesativ...     Naturally Smooth

    I love this formula for shaving because it is made with all natural ingredients and really hydrates your skin. It builds up a soft lather for easy shaving and adds moisture to your skin in an ecofriendly way. August 8, 2008, 8:10 pm

    Toms of Maine is a great shaving cream to take on a business trip, camping, a weekend trip, etc. It is a vegetable based cream so it doesn't foam up like traditional shaving cream out of an aerosol can. I like the mint scent which comes from natural plant extracts instead of petrol based chemicals. This product spreads out ... This product spreads out on a just-washed-face (I'm a guy ladies...) like "wet" lotion, again, thin compared to a foam but it gives excellent protection for a really close shave. I have very sensitive skin and find Toms a perfect fit to my morning shaving needs. June 4, 2008, 5:03 am
