Chanel Precision Sublimage Essential Regenerating Cream

Known as "the $350 one" (or my mom's "precious") this emollient cream looks like it belongs in a museum. The glimmering jar comes in a gold box with illustrated directions on application via four-minute massage. Whether Chanel's "polyfractioning" technique, which isolates active ingredients from Madagascar vanilla orchids, really fights wrinkles is a mystery. But the cream hydrates and reflects light, making skin look instantly radiant. Potentially bothersome are a minutely greasy residue and vanilla-tinged, Chanel No.5 scent.

December 1, 2007, 7:55 pm Sublimage is the highest level of technology you can get at a makeup counter for a skincare product. The "polyfractioned active" ingredient Vanilla Planifolia is a very rare plant extract taken off the coast of Madagascar, and the reason for "ployfractioning" the ingredient is that the plant is extracted 3 times to give you the purest form of the ingredient, which in turn delivers exeptionally powerful potency of the product. This is the one for you if you are experiencing serious lines and wrinkles, sallow looking skin, and have age, or sun spots. Sublimage is not for everyone, but it will work if you use it on a consistent basis and have specific concerns for your skin as mentioned above. December 1, 2007, 7:55 pm

I love many of Chanel's cosmetics and I'll save my money to spend on their lipsticks, glosses, liners, etc. Where are Chanel's clinical tests that show that it's worth the money? December 2, 2007, 7:02 pm I'm disappointed that a product of this price point from a company with so many resources could be so profoundly disappointing. What I found was a heavily perfumed cream with a waxy texture that failed to sink into my skin. Further, the ingredients left me completely underwhelmed. This "magical" vanilla extract they speak of was almost at the bottom of the list (ingredients being listed in order of concentration, this indicates to me that there isn't enough of the ingredient in the product to be effective). Besides the vanilla, everything else was emollients, waxes, preservatives, and perfume. Nothing else to indicate to me that I would enjoy any skin perfecting benefits. Being a sucker for expensive products, though, I gave it a shot and just ended up looking greasy. I would only recommend this to somebody as an extremely rich moisturizer that could soothe dry skin. I would be sure to caution, however, not to expect any of the firming, smoothing, or brightening that I would hope for in a product this expensive. December 2, 2007, 7:02 pm

Very Expensive! But, does WORK MAJIC!!!

It's like throwing money away. Unless, you can afford it then I would say go for it. After all, it's really light and it did smoothened the top layer of my skin. I recommend PREVAGE. It's high with strongest Anti-Oxidant ther is todate, and not as pricey as this one. May 5, 2008, 10:34 pm

I have tried many Chanel products- maybe becasue of the name or the hype- after this purchase... never again. Their products simply don't live up the the hype or the price. April 27, 2008, 2:51 pm

I purchased Chanel's Sublimage last year when it was launched in September of 2006 and while I liked the product very much, I didn't see enough improvement in my skin density to warrant the price. I would not repurchase it. November 29, 2007, 9:39 am

Was given a sample to take home after the saleswoman made a sacrificial ritual of feathering it into my skin. Yes it feels wonderful and the packaging is nice, but there are lots of other creams out there at a fraction of the cost that contain proven ingredients. November 26, 2007, 3:23 pm

Too Expensive for my Pocketbook !!

    by Kat___ (60 reviews)
I received a deluxe sample of Sublimage from Chanel when purchasing my usual Chanel foundation. Yes, it did feel fabulous on my skin but after using the sample for a few days, I really did not see any change. Even if I had seen a change, this product is just too expensive for my taste or my pocketbook !! December 28, 2007, 3:48 am

Subliage is an excellent daytime moisturizer with serious antiaging features. Texture is soft and creamy without feeling heavy. Very pleasant smell, easy to use, is not greasy. November 12, 2007, 6:19 pm
