Wen Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner

Looking for a sulfate-free, extra gentle hair cleanser? The two-in-one, non-lathering Wen Cleansing Conditioner may be for you. Upon first use, your hair may feel weighed down with product buildup -- mine did. This was because I wasn't using enough of the creamy product, so read the directions. My shoulder-length, medium-thick hair required 40 (gasp!) pumps out of the bottle. When the ideal amount of product is used, you'll get tingling, clean scalp and hair that's product-free and hydrated. It's a different way to cleanse and condition hair though, so be prepared for change.

      If You Have Scalp Issues....

November 29, 2007, 5:12 pm If you're afraid to wear black, if you have an itchy scalp, WEN Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner is the solution. WEN is my Holy Grail hair product and there's a product for all hair types. WEN replaces your shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, detangler, deep conditioner and shine products. If you're have an issue with flakes, apply a very generous amount of WEN to your hair & scalp and sleep with it in your hair. Make sure that you also give yourself a vigorous scalp massage, put a towel on your pillow and rinse it out in the morning. I like to combine it with the WEN Tea Tree Oil. I've been a WEN girl for over two years and I'll never go back to traditional shampoos. The longer you use WEN, the better your hair will look and you'll be amazed at the shine! Try combining the different "flavors" and please note that it's important to use the suggested amount. The biggest mistake newbies make is not using enough product! :) November 29, 2007, 5:12 pm

      Not so great

      by oscart (5 reviews)
I tried this for flaky scalp. It seems to give me more flakes. And make my scalp even itchier. And my hair just seems so greasy. That may be a great grunge look, but as a 30-something, the greasy look isn't so great. In fact, I'm not really a fan of it on any age, but that's just me. I've used the product as directed.... That may be a great grunge look, but as a 30-something, the greasy look isn't so great. In fact, I'm not really a fan of it on any age, but that's just me. I've used the product as directed. I've rinsed multiple times just to try to eliminate the greasies. It smells pretty good, I guess. I've gotten it to work better by using it with a shampoo first, but that kind of defeats the purpose. As soon as it's gone, I'm going back to my Philosophy shampoo. It's a bit more expensive, but I won't look like I haven't washed my hair in a week. May 12, 2008, 11:03 pm

Even after the first use, my scalp didn't feel as itchy and yucky, and after several uses I felt for the first time in my life that my problem had been cured. I really can't say enough about the cleansing conditioners. I was very skeptical about them, but now I'm a true believer and WEN addict! February 21, 2008, 7:57 am

June 3, 2008, 12:23 pm I love all his cleansing conditioners. I have used them for over a year. I have long hair almost to my buttocks and before this I had split ends and dry fly away hair. Also when I colored, my reds faded way too fast and my browns turned into reddish golds. Not complaining about the color it turned to, but its not what I paid for:) with this shampoo my reds stay RED forever. seriously they were red way past the 6 mos trim I had done. My stylist wanted to know if i was cheating on her! love it. i will never use anything else. June 3, 2008, 12:23 pm

      Yuck

      by MamaLisa (14 reviews)
The concept behind this stuff is great. I thought it would be awesome for my sorta-dry, color treated hair. NOPE!! It was heavy, greasy, and just plain nasty. It smells great, but I'm sorry I wasted the money. October 27, 2008, 9:56 am

          • Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner is fortified with miraculous stimulating and rejuvenating properties that aid in alleviating sensitive, dry or flaky scalps. This detergent, lather and sodium laurel sulfate-free formula is ideal for medium to coarse, wavy to curly and ethnic hair and may be used as often as necessary to cleanse without stripping away hair’s natural moisture. 16 oz. By Chaz Dean.
          • Directions

          • Rinse hair thoroughly and completely with cool water for at least 1 minute. Cleansing Conditioner should be applied in four sections: the crown of your head, the nape/back of head, ends to the left side of your hair and ends to the right side of your hair. For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 24 pumps, (6 pumps per section). For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 32 pumps, (8 pumps per section). For hair past your shoulders use a minimum of 40 pumps, (10 per section). For hair to your mid-back use a minimum of 48 pumps, (12 per section). Add a splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends and massage vigorously into scalp for 2-3 minutes. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb and clip hair up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it on the better for maximum results. Rinse with cool water thoroughly for 1-2 minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends. While hair is soaking wet, apply 1-3 pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner starting from the back of the head through to the ends. For thicker/coarser hair increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly hydrate and cleanse the scalp and ends. If you choose to rinse and repeat, use half the amount of suggested pumps for each cleansing.
