Looking for a sulfate-free, extra gentle hair cleanser? The two-in-one, non-lathering Wen Cleansing Conditioner may be for you. Upon first use, your hair may feel weighed down with product buildup -- mine did. This was because I wasn't using enough of the creamy product, so read the directions. My shoulder-length, medium-thick hair required 40 (gasp!) pumps out of the bottle. When the ideal amount of product is used, you'll get tingling, clean scalp and hair that's product-free and hydrated. It's a different way to cleanse and condition hair though, so be prepared for change.

    Super for dry damaged hair

    by Cuysmomo (3 reviews)
I love my Wen. Since I started using Wen my hair has improved dramatically. It is in the best shape ever, smooth and silky. The only drawback is that if you use too much or use too often it can leave your hair weighted down and oily. November 13, 2007, 3:02 am

The hair gods finally answered my prayers!

    by jonesygirl9 (3 reviews)
Oh the joy of beautiful, bouncy, full hair! My limp, fine, dry locks resisted every shampoo, conditioner, and "volumizing product" out there. I had an oily scalp and dry hair. Broke down and bought this through TV offer. First time I washed, I sat down and cried with happiness! A girl on the street actually asked ...me who does my hair because it looks so shiny and full. This is the stuff good hair days are made of!!!! March 27, 2008, 11:09 pm

    Cleansing conditioner

    by AmyCatherine (2 reviews)
I tried this product for about a week, and my hair did feel very smooth and healthy. The product is such a departure from regular shampoo and conditioner, however, that it's difficult to use at first and it's pretty hard to wash out all of the cleansing conditioner. Your hair will look incredibly oily if you don't get it ...all out. It does what it says, cleanses without stripping hair of natural oils, but it's pretty tricky to use. December 8, 2007, 11:17 am

    I am surprised!

After less than a week, I am losing less hair! Or, less is breaking. Either way, my hair stays clean looking all day and my face is MUCH less oily -- even at the end of the day! All in all, a win/win. Use very warm water to rinse and rinse well. March 15, 2008, 11:25 am

    One Product Does It All!

    by dpezi (3 reviews)
Wen truly does replace coditioners of all kinds. Shampoo/Conditioner idea was new but so glad I gave it a try. My blonde streaks are not fading out as promised also. No need to shampoo daily. Hair is clean an fabulous. November 29, 2007, 10:05 am

    Ditto Cuysmomo's review...

    by meghan4mark (20 reviews)
This product without-a-doubt improved the quality of my hair. My hair was immediately softer and shinier, though I agree with Cuysmomo's review that after prolonged use it did leave my hair quite weighed down and I noticed my hair became oily a lot faster than normal - even after rinsing the product thoroughly. The most n...oticable affect Wen had on my head was actually on my scalp. I found it healed my scalp amazingly - and I hadn't even realized there was a problem with my scalp before using it! It is incredibly soothing. I love the concept of this product and definitely recommend it to others - especially if you have dry/damaged hair, a sore or damaged scalp, or if your hair is in need of a burst of life. Unfortunately the price is rather high. It is extremely expensive for the amount of product you need to use with each washing. If you use it regularly you'll be shelling out QUITE a lot of money - keep that in mind. August 15, 2008, 9:50 pm

    I love Wen products

    by sunflowers (1 review)
Using a shampoo and a conditioner always had a drying effect on my hair. After using Wen products for a month, my hair is shinier, healthier, stronger and I love that there is only one step to this product. April 25, 2008, 1:06 pm

    Still not impressed

Tried the Almond Miint and then this. Both are poor products for fine naturally soft hair. My reviewn for the almond mint is more detailed. June 24, 2008, 6:36 am

Great Item - Good to use - Not so good price

    by superberri (1 review)
Product quality: Wonderful. . Container: Awful - you can't get product near to the bottom of the pump. Did it live up to its claims? As long as you don't believe your hair will grow 12" and double in volume, yes! Hair definitely feels clean, fresh, soft, silky, full of body. Length of use: I have used this for 2 week...s now, so I cannot comment on buildup. However, my slightly oily hair feels very very clean at the scalp - it just doesn't SQUEAK (which I understand is not a good thing) Value: It's expensive, no two ways about it, even if you do factor in the multi use. Unless you buy very high end hair products, this will hit you in the pocketbook. However, you may consider it "worth it." The concept is pretty cool, the stuff smells lovely, and my husband commented on my hair even though I had fallen asleep with it wet and let it dry naturally. The BEST THING for me: I have never ever had a product that completely detangled like Wen. I mean, the comb slid through my hair wet and even when dry, I can easily run my fingers right to the ends. I have very fine hair and it knots up easily. No more. That's positively AMAZING. It seems to be important to use enough. I found that 12-16 pumps are plenty for my top-of-shoulder medium thick fine hair. It's also vital to massage thoroughly and add some more water to really get everything emulsified. Leave it in (take any excess on your hands and rub on legs...soft!) 1-5 minutes (they say 3-5...I don't have that much time!) and rinse thoroughly. I think it's easy to rinse out. I wasn't bothered about the "no lathering" concept. You know that's the story, and it really feels nice and creamy on the hair. It doesn't feel greasy or oily. I think it's EASIER to rinse than regular shampoo! I used only a scant "pump" as a leave-in conditioner, and did not apply to my scalp. I've also tried the Lavender (a tiny bit more moisturizing) and Sweet Almond mint (wakes you up minty). I'll continue to use all three. If I do find I get any build-up, I'll use a regular shampoo once or twice a month and then go back to WEN. So, for all my griping about the price and pump, I am obviously sold. • Manufacturer's Product Description

  • Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioner is perfect for fine to medium textured hair. Its natural, astringent and antioxidant properties effectively cleanse while helping diminish excess oil in the scalp and rehydrate dry hair. As a leave-in conditioner, it adds volume and body and may be used as often as necessary to achieve exceptionally healthy, shiny hair. 16 oz. By Chaz Dean.
  • Directions

  • How do I use it: Start by rinsing hair thoroughly for at least one minute. Apply eight to 10 pumps to the crown and eight to 10 pumps to the nape or back of the head. Massage vigorously into scalp for two to three minutes. Add an extra splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends. Next, add 10 to 20 pumps, depending on hair length, through the mid-shafts and ends to thoroughly cleanse and hydrate the hair. Comb through with a wide tooth comb and clip up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least three to five minutes--the longer, the better! Rinse thoroughly and completely for one to two minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends. The more conditioner you use, the better the results. Number of pumps needed may vary depending on length, season, and weather. For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 20 pumps. For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 30 pumps. For hair past your shoulders, use a minimum of 40 pumps. One 32-oz bottle should last approximately eight to 12 weeks. After showering, apply one to three pumps to wet hair as a leave-in conditioner, starting at the back of the head and working through to the ends. Let hair dry naturally and style; or, wrap a towel around your head to absorb moisture. Do not abrasively dry your head with a towel as this will stress the hair and cause it to frizz.
