I have multi-racial all natural, curly, DRY ethnic hair and my mother and I have spent the past 24 years of my life searching for THE ONE product. Last year I discovered this product on an info commercial and bought it being skeptical. I love it! It's a wonder conditioner for my hair. It doesn't leave my hair crispy. You do need to use a clarifying shampoo cause it does build up, and if you're like me and have dry hair, you will need to use a deep conditioner. Hands down the best investment I ever made. THIS LIVES UP TO WHAT IT CLAIMS. DOES NOT WEIGH DOWN YOUR HAIR. YOU WOULD THINK YEAH WASHING YOUR HAIR WITH CONDITIONER. THE LENGTH OF WEAR IS OUTSTANDING. I JUST CANT SAY ENOUGH. 40 pumps...are you serious?!
It does hydrate slightly better than other shampoos but I was astonished to read the insert that says I need to use 40 pumps. 8-crown, 8-nape, 8-right ends, 8-left ends 8-back ends for my long, thick hair. Even thought I don't wash my hair every day, the bottle will last probably a week and I don't think it's really worth it. Wen update...
I used the Wen Sweet Almond for 1 month before the bottle ran out and I LOVED the results!! It made my frizzy hair smooth, my red (color-treated) hair vibrant and shiny. my thick hair tangle-free, and the scalp issues I had disappeared!! It was amazing. And the smell was wonderful too...I haven't had this many compliments from people (including my hubby) in such a long time! BUT, then I read the reviews on totalbeauty and saw that they raved about Sally Beauty's version of Wen, called Hair One, and it was much cheaper so I decided to try it. It was AWFUL! I can't even tell you what a mess it has made of my hair: tangly, greasy, dull, frizzy times 10; and now my scalp issues are returning!! I could just cry! So I went on Amazon and bought myself another bottle of Wen and it should be here this week. I am going as long as I can between washings just to avoid using the Hair One. Buyer, do NOT be fooled! Impulse buy that turned out to be great!
Bought it on impulse and after reading reviews became skeptical. Used it when I received it and loved it!!! My advice use more than you think you need and rinse really well. A Really Good Hair Product
I'm not gonna say WEN is a hair miracle, but before WEN my hair was D-I-F-F-I-C-U-L-T and WEN brought it back to life. After many many colorings, my hair became so damaged and tangled that my Aveda stylist didn't know what to do with it. It was so bad that last time I was at the salon, after shampooing, she handed ME a comb to start combing out one side while she worked on the other. The damage on my hair was so bad that Aveda's best(and VERY PRICEY) protein builders and moisturizers couldnt help me. My mom gave me WEN for christmas and I hadn't heard anything about it, but after the first 2-3 times of using it I can get a comb through my hair on the first try! And because WEN replaces my shampoo AND conditioner, I'm actually spending less on hair products than I was before. After about 5 washes with WEN I do see my hair starting to get a little weighed down, so I wash JUST the roots with a little suave or whatever, and then go back to my WEN routine. Awesome product, when used correctly
There is a bit of a learning curve with this product. We are so used to suds meaning clean, it is a strange feeling to wash your hair with something that does not "suds" at all. This product leaves my hair feeling lush and soft. Goodbye to that dry frizzy hair I used to have. I also notice my color takes better (more evenly) and lasts longer. Don't waste your money!
This product was not at all worth the money. It actually left my hair dried out and straw like, like if I had used some cheap-o brand shampoo and no conditioner, even though I followed all the directions.
