Looking for a sulfate-free, extra gentle hair cleanser? The two-in-one, non-lathering Wen Cleansing Conditioner may be for you. Upon first use, your hair may feel weighed down with product buildup -- mine did. This was because I wasn't using enough of the creamy product, so read the directions. My shoulder-length, medium-thick hair required 40 (gasp!) pumps out of the bottle. When the ideal amount of product is used, you'll get tingling, clean scalp and hair that's product-free and hydrated. It's a different way to cleanse and condition hair though, so be prepared for change.

perfect for dry or ethnic hair

    by Tammy33 (6 reviews)
very hydrating product...great scent, invigorating tingle. This cleansing regimen is very different from what anyone is used to....no foaming...this one product is your shampoo and conditioner..and leave in conditioner. Perfect if you have wavy hair or ethnic hair. December 22, 2007, 4:09 am

One bottle does it all in the shower

    by debc4723 (3 reviews)
Chaz Dean has a winner! I've been using his sweet almond mint cleansing conditioner for about a year now. I have wavy, fine hair, just past my shoulders. I love having one product for both cleansing and conditioning, after all, who needs more bottles in the shower? Combing through my hair in the shower has never been easier...! Getting used to the fact that there won't be any suds since there aren't any harsh detergents in it soon passes once you see the results. My hair has never been as soft and shiny! Would highly recommend! October 30, 2007, 6:36 pm

    great product

    by jessleigh (3 reviews)
I have fine hair that I dye a lot. I love the way that my hair feels after using this product. It is simple to use, and my hair is soft, full of body and the color stays vibrant instead of the usually fading. I didn't think it would feel clean since it is a conditioner, and was afraid it would be too heavy for my hair, bu...t it wasn't all. April 28, 2008, 8:56 pm

May 26, 2008, 9:28 pm I agree that the product causes your hair to look flat and lifeless while following the protocol to the letter. If you use Suave conditioner in the same manner, you will get much better results at a tiny fraction of the cost. In addition, when purchasing he introductory set, they automatically send you more supply whether you request it or not. While there is 100% satisfaction guarantee, they will not refund the shipping. It's quite the rip off factory. May 26, 2008, 9:31 pm

    Fantastic Results!!!

    by strawberry55 (6 reviews)
I love this product. With just one shampoo my hair look fantastic people could not beleive my results. I am so--excited I had to call my friends and highly recommend this to them. I am a black women with hair that was falling out and damaged from medication, I did not beleive that a conditioning shampoo would help my hair, ...but much to my suprise my hair looks healthy and I only used it once. I ordered this product off of Wen informerical and thank God I did. I can not wait to shampoo again. I highly recommend this product. Thank God For Wen by Chaz Dean. I am a happy happy user. I am on auto ship. Thanks Chaz. Ms. Langley May 15, 2008, 4:34 pm

    Broke down and bought it

    by sillysuperdog (18 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I have nice, box colored long hair I really loved how it made my hair feel. It felt as good as using a really good shampoo/conditioner but it didn't dramatically change my hair life. I still needed to use my smooth down hair lotion for fly aways. It was 30 freakin bucks! It was supposed to be a month supply but using the p...roduct according to the directions, I ran out in two weeks. They did offer to refund the $ when I complained. It took twice as long to wash my hair. My boyfriend did not like the smell. I would surely use this stuff instead of shampoo IF Its like $15 at the supermarket. Too much time/$/trouble for the results. Hey Chaz Dean, make this stuff more availible! And stop lookin like an SNL character May 22, 2008, 12:02 pm

    First time use

    by cinamaje (3 reviews)
This product really looked like a good option for my hair that is extremely kinky (specially after almost 6 months without a perm. I bought it through wen website and found out one month later that it was not a good idea to bye it there (unless you really love this product want to spend 97 dollars every 3 months. i didn't r...eally have the time to find out since it took a month to be delivered and on the same day I used, I found out that I had involuntarily agreed with this 3 month supply membership...and the bill was on my on my credit card). In despite of that, I was really impressed with how my hair felt after using it just for the first time. i feels very smooth, less frizzy and it really feels clean. The mint gives a great refreshing sensation. I used it again 3 days later and it fees as good as in the first time. For now I still have 20 more days to test it before canceling my membership and/or return my first 3 month supply that is already on the way. It is a good product...but if you just want to try I would not recommend buying on Wen's website. April 21, 2008, 2:20 pm

    I'm hooked!

    by mdennington (1 review)
I've been using Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleanser for two months now and this product totally exceeded my expectations! I have fine/wavy/frizzy hair and this is the ONLY cleansing product that has ever truly changed the condition of my hair. Plus, it has cut down on the products that I use and that I have to travel with which ...is a big plus. I was having to use way too many products to get less results that what I get with Wen. I started getting a lot of compliments on my hair right after I started using this. Love, love, love it. June 12, 2008, 8:30 am

Cleans but leaves it too soft and fly-a-way

    by bas1213 (1 review)
I was very skeptical to try this. My hair is fine but plentiful and naturally wavy. Color treated for years now to hide the grey. Left to self dry it gets somewhat frizzed as it does in humidity. My salvation has been the flat iron. Great shiny hair, no frizz that does not need daily washing to look good. But I figured not...hing to lose- For 2 weeks now I have tried using more, less, styling creme, no creme...to see what amounts would be better then my ever rotating combos of shampoo, rinses and or a variety of leave in/rinse out conditioners. It did, amazingly, really clean my hair once I found that 10 pumps was the amount for me-rinse alot-then 1 pump as a leave in. However, my hair became so soft it was baby fine, staticy and didn't fall well(even while flat ironed) and when air dryed just didn't have body. The styling creme made it feel not clean and needed daily redo. So what's my rating....5 out of 10. Yes it cleans and detangles and smells great-all in one. If you have great wash and wear hair, it'll probably be terrific for you. My hair needs more. A really good color safe shampoo and then a body building leave-in conditioner and my trusty flat iron. I like it but....

    by kerrib (10 reviews)
The jury is still out on this one. I like it but I'm just not in love with it. I feel like I am putting too much of it on my head (12+ pumps seems like ALOT!) I'll keep trying though....I wouldn't recommend using this everyday. June 16, 2008, 7:41 pm

  • Attributes

  • Hair type: Damaged
  • Manufacturer's Product Description

  • Sweet Almond Mint is the perfect balance of nourishing herbs and natural ingredients designed to hydrate and replenish hair that has been damaged due to shampoo and other harsh elements. May be used as often as necessary, it thoroughly cleanses hair and scalp without stripping them of their natural oils, providing it with added moisture, strength and sheen. 16 oz. By Chaz Dean.
  • Directions

  • How do I use it: least one minute. Apply eight to 10 pumps to the crown and eight to 10 pumps to the nape or back of the head. Massage vigorously into scalp for two to three minutes. Add an extra splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends. Next, add 10 to 20 pumps, depending on hair length, through the mid-shafts and ends to thoroughly cleanse and hydrate the hair. Comb through with a wide tooth comb and clip up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least three to five minutes--the longer, the better! Rinse thoroughly and completely for one to two minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends.
The more conditioner you use, the better the results. Number of pumps needed may vary depending on length, season, and weather. For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 20 pumps. For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 30 pumps. For hair past your shoulders, use a minimum of 40 pumps. One 16-oz bottle should last approximately four to six weeks. After showering, apply one to three pumps to wet hair as a leave-in conditioner, starting at the back of the head and working through to the ends. Let hair dry naturally and style; or, wrap a towel around your head to absorb moisture. Do not abrasively dry your head with a towel as this will stress the hair and cause it to frizz.
