Looking for a sulfate-free, extra gentle hair cleanser? The two-in-one, non-lathering Wen Cleansing Conditioner may be for you. Upon first use, your hair may feel weighed down with product buildup -- mine did. This was because I wasn't using enough of the creamy product, so read the directions. My shoulder-length, medium-thick hair required 40 (gasp!) pumps out of the bottle. When the ideal amount of product is used, you'll get tingling, clean scalp and hair that's product-free and hydrated. It's a different way to cleanse and condition hair though, so be prepared for change.

Works Great on African-American Relaxed Hair

    by alana08 (1 review)
I have very thick, coarse, frizzy hair and flaky scalp and this product worked very well to make my hair soft and managable and also my scalp is clean. Great product! Love it! June 27, 2008, 10:54 am

    Don\'t waste your money!

    by mirandamak (1 review)
I am happy for the people that think this is so wonderful, I thought that I would love it too but honestly, my hair has never looked worse! Flat and greasy and feels like its coated with wax or something. I tried using less product, exactly what it says, and more product. It didn\'t matter, it was all the same.... awful, and... expensive too. I am so disappointed. April 12, 2008, 10:43 pm

i liked that i didnt have to re color my ends after 4 weeks of using, you have to scrubb well on scalp if you tend to have oily hair, otherwise love that my color stays nice for weeks!!!!! November 12, 2007, 1:26 pm

    My Holy Grail!

    by RedWENgirl (7 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I've been using all of the WEN products for over two years and I own and use all of the WEN "flavors". I have fine, naturally wavy color treated hair that is prone to frizz. I love to use the WEN Fig as an overnight treatment. I apply a generous amount of WEN to wet hair at night, massage my scalp vigorously, p...ut a towel on my pillow and rinse it out in the morning. The Fig is the most conditioning formula is is terrific for coarse, ethnic or curly hair but it's also great for all hair types when used as a deep conditioner. If your hair is dry or if you have dry ends, don't be afraid to add the WEN Fig to the Sweet Almond Mint, the Lavendar, or Cucumber Aloe. If you color your hair, WEN's a must because it keeps your hair color from fading. I have my hair professionally colored and anyone with red hair knows how quickly it can fade. Even my colorist noticed how vibrant my color was staying and he was also impressed with the condition of my hair. One of the things I love best is that my hair is totally tangle free! I wish WEN had been around when I was growing up. It's great for children's hair too and you can even use WEN on your dog's hair too! November 29, 2007, 5:31 pm

    Not worth it

    by serious (2 reviews)
I agree that the product causes your hair to look flat and lifeless while following the protocol to the letter. If you use Suave conditioner in the same manner, you will get much better results at a tiny fraction of the cost. In addition, when purchasing he introductory set, they automatically send you more supply whether ...you request it or not. While there is 100% satisfaction guarantee, they will not refund the shipping. It's quite the rip off factory. May 26, 2008, 9:28 pm

    LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

    by DONNAJAN (3 reviews)
I know it sounds strange, no suds, but trust me your hair will thank you! I am almost 50 yo woman who has colored her hair for the last 20 years. I have been using Wen for about a year, my hair has never looked or felt better. It has even gown past my shoulders, which it wouldn't do in high school w/o all split ends. I use ...the fig mixed with tea tree and a little lavender, about 30 pumps. Sounds like a lot, but you only need to clean your hair 2 or 3 times per week. I also use the fig oil, styling creme and texture balm. I am such a true convert my fiance tried it and he loves it too, and he is a big 300lb manly man. Please people give it a try, Chaz Dean is a genius!!!! December 27, 2007, 2:34 pm

    Silky

    by Brigit (3 reviews)
THis product leaves your hair feeling so healthy , soft and shiny. The only thing you have to figure out is the correct amount to use for your hair length. It is trial and error but once you have it down it is wonderful! November 26, 2007, 4:41 pm

    A must have

    by lipstick (4 reviews)
I have tried too many shampoos and condiitioners - all of them dried out my curly highlighted long blonde hair. I started using this a year ago and my hair is now shiny and my curls hold all day without using all those gels. A truly great product! November 29, 2007, 5:22 am

  • Manufacturer's Product Description

  • Fig Cleansing Conditioner is a universal cleanser which, due to its rich, dense consistency, works exceptionally well to moisturize, hydrate and replenish dry, heat-damaged, color-treated, or dehydrated hair. This cleansing conditioner is free of sodium laurel sulfates and detergents, and cleanses without lathering or stripping the scalp or hair of natural moisture. 16 oz. By Chaz Dean.
  • Directions

  • Rinse hair thoroughly and completely with cool water for at least 1 minute. Cleansing Conditioner should be applied in four sections: the crown of your head, the nape/back of head, ends to the left side of your hair and ends to the right side of your hair. For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 24 pumps, (6 pumps per section). For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 32 pumps, (8 pumps per section). For hair past your shoulders use a minimum of 40 pumps, (10 per section). For hair to your mid-back use a minimum of 48 pumps, (12 per section). Add a splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends and massage vigorously into scalp for 2-3 minutes. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb and clip hair up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it on the better for maximum results. Rinse with cool water thoroughly for 1-2 minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends. While hair is soaking wet, apply 1-3 pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner starting from the back of the head through to the ends. For thicker/coarser hair increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly hydrate and cleanse the scalp and ends. If you choose to rinse and repeat, use half the amount of suggested pumps for each cleansing.
