    Love it

I absolutely adore this product... I have it in the color Groundwork. This is great because my eyeshadows lasted for hours when I used it without creasing or fading. This would also be a great product if your in a hurry. — 1 year, 8 months ago

Lasts like no other and is a great buy!

These little paint pots are amazing! I'm a photographer and so I have a camera up to my eye a lot and by the end of a wedding or a family shoot, I was left sweating and minus all eye makeup, so I set out on a quest to find TRULY WATERPROOF eye makeup (including shadow, eye liner and mascara). So of course I turned to Total Beauty and found my forever shadow base and eye shadow in one with MAC reviews. The paint pots literally last thru photo shoots, sweating, swimming, and even lasted after 3 hours of non-stop crying at a recent memorial. I usually use a lighter shade as a highlighter as a base and along my brow line and use a more vibrant color (like Rubinesque) as a 2nd color on my lids and crease to make my green eyes pop. If I want to go bolder, I use the same highliting color (like Bare Study) and then add a bit of my own miscellaneous eye shadow colors and even if they are dollar store cheapies, they do not budge. It literally makes every shadow I have a heavy-duty shadow without ANY creasing or fading. I even use it as a bit of a under eye circle concealer to give my eyes a brighter look. I also jot down the dates on when I buy a great makeup product, and these paint pots, even with every day wear, can last you an entire year. They last ten times longer than any chubby eye pencil out there and outlast all the cream shadows I've tried over the past 5 years. I also found out that many theater performers use these as well to make sure their elaborate make-up stays put. At their affordable price (considering they last you a year), you cannot go wrong. I've tried several other brands of primers and shadow bases and none of them compare to MAC. So whether you're using them as a shadow base or an actual eye color, they rock. You couple it with the MAC Liquid/Fluid line eye liner and you have TOTALLY waterproof and sweatproof eye makeup - IDEAL for weddings or a long work day where you can almost guarantee that you won't need a touch up! — 1 year, 8 months ago

    LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

I have oily eye lids and use this as a primer everyday and it works great. My eye shaddow and liner doesn't move until I use a makeup remover. I usually wear my makeup for 15 hrs and I have yet to have a problem while using this product. Love love love this product and will defiantly buy again. — 1 year, 9 months ago

    Versatile product

I love to use "Painterly" as an eyeshadow primer, but I do find that it creases on oily lids. It's perfect for those minimal make-up days, though. It really even things out! — 1 year, 11 months ago

Eye primer + casual day shadow

I have this in Painterly (a bit lighter than my fair skin) and Groundwork (a medium warm brown). They work great as eyeshadow primers... no creasing, and my eyeshadow always looks just as good after a long day as when I put it on in the morning! Sometimes if I'm just having a lazy day I'll swipe some Groundwork on my lids and it looks pretty good by itself. — 2 years ago

    Meh.

I don't wear a lot of coloured eyeshadows, however I do like for the pigment to somewhat show on my skin. So I went to MAC, they sold me "Painterly" aka "Beige." Keep in mind, I'm a little bit darker, so when I put it on my lids - I looked sick. I found that it still creased, and dramatically dulled, and practically changed the colours of my eyeshadows. It did in fact prime my eyes, and did HELP keep some colour on, however not to my expectations, and still found that i had bag under my eyes after a few hours. I went back to MAC, and they said that I have to get a couple of different paint pots to match my eyeshadow, when all I wanted was a generic primer. Some of their other paint pots are nice....I just don't think the product works that great. I've tried a few primers, and they've worked better (Urban Decay Primer Potion) — 2 years ago

    Awesomeness in a jar!

I only own one paint pot and it's in Soft Ocre. I use everyday. I have naturally oily eyelids, but whit this, my eyeshadow will not crease at all! I love it. — 2 years, 1 month ago

    Very creamy

I have this product in Soft Orche, Groundwork and Blackground (which I returned). Soft Orche and Groundwork are very creamy and easy to blend. Blackground, however, is creamy but much harder to blend out and work with. I use these on top of UDPP so that the shadows can have something to cling on to. Soft Orche works very well to neutralize my lids and give me an even base to work with. You have to be careful with dry patches on your lids though because these will accentuate them. I have oily lids and these alone will not serve as a good base. That is why I use these with UDPP. I think the price is pretty reasonable with the amount of product that you get (I can only wish that the MUFE Aqua Cream is around the same price). I wish Mac sells them in a smaller pot though to prevent drying out of unused product. Overall, I would by these again. — 2 years, 2 months ago

Nice primer if you don't have oily lids

I have the paint pot in painterly. It is a nice base color and it does keep my eyeshadow from creasing for a while, but my eyeshadow is definitely creased at the end of a 9 hour work day. I would say if you have normal to dry skin, these would work great as a primer though. What I usually do is put down a small amount of Urban Decay Primer Potion just on the lid part and then put the paint pot on top from lashline to browbone and this will keep the eyeshadow on all day with no creasing. Even the UDPP will sometimes crease by itself on me if I'm having a really oily day, but the combination of both is like armor for my eyeshadow! — 2 years, 3 months ago

    Creamy!

I love the creaminess of these bases. Painterly is a beautiful shade that melts right into my ultra-pale skin. They set a nice base whether I'm using MAC eye shadows or any other brand, and don't cause my eyeliner to melt or anything like that. This is a must-have product! — 2 years, 3 months ago
