These pricey, tinted primers claim to correct color, reduce wrinkles and "defy" dark spots. Reality check? There was minor improvement in redness, but not enough to skip makeup, as suggested. For oily skin types, layering the slippery silicone base over a moisturizer with SPF and topping with foundation may be too much. But normal to dry can experiment with the cheaper travel-size options before buying a full bottle.

Green Primer - This product worked for me

    by nzbeauty (1 review)
Like many of the other reviewers, I have red undertones to my skin. I bought the product thinking it would transform my red and uneven skin tone in to a porcelain palate. Of course, the product can't do that, but it doesn't promise that either. I have found that with the green primer, followed by foundation, my skin's im...perfections are balanced (having cleansed and moisturized my skin before). The truth for me was when I saw photo's of myself with and without the product on. In the past, I had tried concealer sticks and products that you apply with a brush, and I did not get the same smooth finish or overall coverage. Finally, I use a loose powder foundation, and this product works very well in combination with loose powder, which applies smoothly and flawlessly. I am on my second bottle, and will buy another as I have found this to be the best correcting product for my skin type. The only downside I have found is when the pump can no longer pull the primer from the bottle, you have to unscrew the top and bang the bottle on your hand. The bottle also needs to be stored upright at this point, as the primer will make it's way in to the top of the pump and dry around the top of the bottle. One bottle lasts me about ~two months. This is my secret weapon

    by lstabler (3 reviews)
I've got combo skin with redness issues, so I use the green color-corrector and I love -- would not leave the house without it. It goes on like silk, it completely minimizes the red and my foundation stays on all day. I put it on after my oil-free foundation and let it set for 60 seconds prior to putting on foundation. Eve...n my super-cheap mother forked over the $38 for some. We're talking about a woman who wears blue Maybelline mascara. Seriously. November 28, 2007, 5:00 pm

    Color Adjust

    by sillyangel (15 reviews)
I use the color adjust one that reduces redness. Well, i use this off and on and it seem like it doesn't help me at all. It's just in my container, collecting dust. Not worth the price. December 20, 2007, 7:54 pm

    Waste of Money/Time

I tried the Dark Spot Corrector (orange) and was completely disappointed. I had some colouring from vacation over the summer and hoped this would help conceal dark spots while I used another product to lighten them. Big mistake choosing this product!!! Not only did it make absolutely NO difference, it made my skin oilier t...han normal. It caused my makeup and powder to cake (something I had no problem with until I tried this corrector). I would recommend NOT buying this product and spending your money and time on a good spot fading product. I threw this product away and continued with the spot treatment which was amazing. File this Smashbox product under "What not to buy". April 18, 2008, 11:12 am

    Love the Green

    by JJis42 (93 reviews)

Bought the green as a trial to replace another product and like it better than anything else I\'ve ever used. I can put it on by itself and go without makeup and I get great results. I don\'t like the size in the bottle as the pump does not get it all out, so I buy two travel sizes instead, for the same or lower at Sephor...a and I can squeeze everything out. I have oily skin and it works great with my foundation. April 6, 2008, 6:36 pm

    Green - Color Adjust

    by jenniferceline (18 reviews)
My skin is naturally red-toned. I've used concealers to hide especially red spots, but those aren't good for all-over help. I've also used green powder palettes with no noticeable difference. This Smashbox primer provided the best help so far. It glides on silky smooth and the green color-corrects so that when I apply m...y foundation the redness doesn't show through. Great! Get's the red out

    by Honeybadger (7 reviews)
I love this. I use the green one and it does not make me break out at all. I use it over my sunscreen and it seals in everything that you applied under it. I use it without foundation and since you only need a teeny tiny bit I still am using my first bottle that I bought in April. It does not make my face greasy or brea...k out at all. I get compliments on how great my skin looks when I use it December 11, 2007, 2:30 pm

    not so great

    by diva28 (2 reviews)
a little price for a product that doesn't correct what it claims to do. for those who what that flawless coverage find a better product. it feels smooth but the coverage can be a little much if adding foundation and lose powder on top. the packaging does not allow full use of the product, it is hard to get to the bottom an...d most of the product is wasted when thrown out. AMAZING and goes on light!

    by jazzminb (24 reviews)
I have the peach and green color correcting primers. They are very light and weightless on my face and really evens out my skin tone. I bought the peach one for my sister because she has discoloration on her face and she was THRILLED - talking about how it took 10 years of her looks. She has now gotten everybody in her n...eighborhood hooked on this product! Also try the smashbox o-glow blush - it looks really natural. April 29, 2008, 12:02 pm

    Not Pleased at All....

    by Donna409 (5 reviews)
These primers seem to have gotten so much press and I can't understand why.I tried the original primer from Smashbox, and dis-liked it - it went on sticky and felt like a second skin or mask on my face. I then received a trial size of the green and again couldn't wait to wash it off. I have found other primers at much less ...money and much better performance in the drugstore than these overpriced products. April 27, 2008, 2:59 pm
