VERY BERRY DETOX SMOOTHIE The powerful blend of antioxidants in this smoothie (also created by Boyer) helps cleanse your liver, which processes the toxins that could be contributing to your skin woes, says Koff. Bonus: It's a great way to sneak in some bitter-tasting greens, because the berry flavor overpowers the taste of the veggies.
Blend
1 tbsp fish oil
1⁄4 cup frozen strawberries
1⁄4 cup frozen blueberries
1⁄4 cup frozen raspberries
1⁄4 cup frozen banana
1⁄4 cup chopped kale leaves
1 cup filtered water
Been making smoothies since I was 14yrs old, these are nice combo ingredients, but for someone who's busy like me, I've tapered my smoothies down to 5 fast ingredients. You can buy pass and save A LOT of money and just buy chia seeds instead of fish oil, hemp & etc....it expands like tapioca and use fiber 1 cereal. Not to mention save a lot more money. Sugar free pudding thickens smoothies as well as give flavor. If you have the time to do this Great, but for a busy person like me, No way. I even take my own to the gym and shake it with my ingredients to drink at least 30 minutes after the gym.
I have a blender that doesn't get nearly enough use. Some of these sound really good others..interesting. Wonder if they really "work"?? Guess we'll see!
Greek yogurt makes a fabulous base ingredient for smoothies. It's a little more expensive but I LOVE it. It seems to be healthier than regular yogurt as well.
kenya: You can find hemp milk at any health food store that sells organic and all-natural products. Also, if your grocery store has a "natural" section, it might be in there as well! It's a lot easier to come by than it might seem!
Wow these sound really good. (actually it's probably because they look so good in the pictures. But half the ingredients I don't pruchase and would have to go to a specialty store for those. wonder if Jamba Juice would consider expanding their menu and adding a health section.
These sound wonderful, but I wish there were explanations about some of the more unusual ingredients, like noni fruit powder - what is it, what are its benefits, and where can it be purchased. Otherwise, great article!.
Great, I love smoothies! :)
I just wonder why you have to add all this processed stuff like fish oil (ew, I don't even wanna know how that's made) and protein powder.. so much for natural goodness, I'd rather stick with fruit and veggies - the almond smoothies sounds fantastic.
