The look: Messy bunStep 1: If your hair is slippery or fine, apply a volumizing spray or mousse (try Frederic Fekkai Instant Volume Spray, $19.50, or Victoria's Secret So Sexy Volumizing Mousse, $9.50) and rough dry hair with a blow-dryer and your hands (not a brush) for added texture.
Step 2: Create a side part and pull hair into a low pony. Secure with a hair elastic.
Step 3: Loosely twist the pony and wrap it around the hair elastic (bun-style). Secure with bobby pins. Keep the shape messy. (Your hair will naturally start to wrap around the elastic as you keep twisting.)
Step 4: You can loosen the twist with your fingers if you want a messier look.
Step 5: Pull out a few tendrils of hair around your face and curl them with a small-barreled curling iron.
