Alterna Hemp Straightening Balm
Editor's Rating & Review
This light lotion is a safe option for O.D.-ers who just can't stop at a nickel-sized dollop of straightening cream (like me). Worked through wet curls before a blow-dry, it renders hair slippery and round-brushable without an oily silicone effect; my blow-out remained nicely un-wavy all day. As for claims its hemp seed oil improves strength, shine and elasticity? Eh. Nobody was mistaking me for Marcia Brady, but for about 50 cents a blow-dry, I can live with that.

I had to use a ton of this product, since I have coarse hair. It was good, but based upon the price I paid for it, I won't be purchasing again. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

A great choice for styling fine hair
I've found that straighteners either a) don't work or b) weigh down my fine hair, robbing it of movement. A dime-sized amount of this does what the bottle promises: weightlessly straigens my curly hair. It's not perfect--the straight style doesn't hold all day--but I continue to use it for its frizz-fighting properties. When I plan to wear my hair natural, I apply some of this to my wet hair and let it dry naturally. — 4 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful
