High Fashion Hair and Makeup Looks You Can Actually Wear
You can copy these runway hair and makeup looks to a tee without looking like you're auditioning for the circus
Fashion show: Catherine Malandrino
The look: Purple smoky eyes and lavender nailsHow to get it:
Makeup: Step 1: After evening out your skin tone with foundation and sweeping on a sheer pink blush, create a shadow base by scribbling a soft black pencil eyeliner on the back of your hand, says Maybelline New York makeup artist Gato Zamora who created the look. Dab it on your lid -- from lashlines up to your creases -- using a fingertip.
Step 2: Line your top and bottom lashlines and inner rims (waterlines) with the same black pencil.
Step 3: Pat a shimmery purple shadow (try Maybelline New York Eye Studio Color Plus Silk Eyeshadow in Purple Icon, $10) over the black on top and bottom lids. Use a flat brush or your fingertip to apply.
Step 4: Finish the eyes by applying black mascara to top and bottom lashes.
Step 5: Complete your look by applying sheer pink lip gloss or balm.
Nails: CND nail tech Angi Wingle created this grayish-purple hue by mixing the following CND Colours, $9: Silver Chrome and Brilliant White with tiny drops of Asphalt, Putty, Desert Suede, Eclectic Purple and Bicycle Yellow. Once mixed, apply two coats and finish with a matte top coat to get a satin-like finish.
