Why: One reader says, "this product definitely did not work for me. I have curly/wavy hair and this product made my curls sticky, limp and just not pretty at all. When I washed this product out of my hair, my hair felt brittle and dry." Another reader says, "it didn't work for me. My hair is straight and fairly silky and this product didn't give it the texture that I was hoping for. I tried it both damp and dry, scrunching all over and nothing held." She adds, "I have naturally wavy hair and do love the way it looks after a day at the beach. I had hoped this would help me get the same results on non-beach work days, however, it didn't live up to my expectations."

I've heard good things about the bumble and bumble surf spray, but it's a little to pricey for me. Wanna try it though.

I always assumed that Bumble & Bumble products were quite good. However, I see a lot of the stuff made by this company listed in Total Beauty's "Worse" category. Bumble & Bumble also isn't as cheap as other drugstore brands, and if I had spent $18.95 on a product that got terrible reviews like this hair powder, I wouldn't be a happy camper.

I'm impressed with Aussie in general. The products work very well,and, are reasonably priced. Rivals salon brands.

seriously I dont get the whole hair sun protection thing, I mean I know the sun dries your hair and causes frizziness but its nothing a generous amount of leave in conditioner won't do!

This is a fun break down of beachy hair products! Emma Watson's hair stylist said she used the B&B Surf Spray on the set of the last HP movie to give Hermione natural looking wavy locks, now I'm kind of excited to try it! Any product that Emma Watson uses is good enough for me- she always looks so gorgeous!

attention anyone who's interested in the bumble and bumble surf spray.. the main ingredient is magnesium sulfate.. also known as EPSOM SALT! this is what gives your hair the beachy texture.. save yourself $20 and buy the epsom salt.. you get soo much more for the money and it seriously is the exact same thing!!

When I read these "worst product" reviews, they crack me up. "If you want to look like you attend clown college...." Too funny! On the other side, I love oil products so I am anxious to try the Redkin hair oil spray. It might be helpful if one of the slides had a list of the products. I have so much fun reading through, I hate to stop and take notes ;-)

very helpful - i have not heard of many of these products so appreciate the information. I have used the Fekkai beach hair and the anti-frizz sprays but neither worked for my hair. My hair is ultra curly but baby fine which translates into major frizz and flyaways. The Fekkai beach spray really damaged my hair by expanding the cuticle, leaving it split and dehydrated; the antifrizz spray simply didn't stand a chance with my hair. That would take a miracle.

I actually really like Dove's natural movement non-aerosol hair sprays. I don't get many hair issues during the summer though, so I'm not sure how great it is for frizz. Also, I'm happy to see that Aussie got to be #1; they're good quality and almost everything is under $5.

I found a a wonderful hairspray with great hold - its the Shielo Volume Hairspray (Flexible Hold) . It's does wonders if you flip your head over and spray at the roots. However, it will leave your hair a little hard unless you work it through a little bit. Even holds in high humidity.. I'm in Houston and it doesn't get much more humid than here!!!

I've used Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray, my hair is thin, blonde and flat, this product gave me body and beachy hair, I love it! I went all the way to NYC from Virginia Beach just to get this particular hair product!

I have always wanted to try the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray but its so expensive =( the bottles doesnt seem very big either... Ive tried other sprays to get that messy beachy look but none of them ever work.. always end up with poofy frizzy hair...
