10 Best At-Home Peels -- and the 4 Worst
These facial peels either left readers' skin glowing and healthy, or painfully irritated
No. 3: Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Facial Peel, $25.99
TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 6.3*Why: Readers complain that this peel just wasn't "that strong." They did not see "much of a difference" in the quality of skin improvement, but they did notice it "caused irritation" on the face, causing it to "turn red after each use." One reader says, "It did nothing but break me out and it's really expensive for a small jar." Another reader says, "It did not exfoliate as the product said it would," because there "isn't anything in this product that would exfoliate!" A third reader "followed the directions," but says her skin looks "exactly the same." "I don't want to spend so much money on something that only lasts for one day," she says.
