11 Best Color Protecting Shampoos to Keep Your Dye on LockSee which top-rated hair care products will prevent your color from swirling down the drain |
The best color protecting shampoo will do exactly what the name implies: Preserve your freshly done, beautiful hair color and keep it (and your hard-earned money) from being washed down the drain. After all, it makes no sense to spend a fortune on coloring your hair at a salon only to use hair care products that strip the color at home. So stocking up on proper hair care products post-treatment is an absolute must.
Well, you're in luck: Real women tested boatloads of hair care products, namely color-protecting shampoos, including ones made especially for brunettes, redheads, raven-haired ladies and blondes (the jury is still out on who has the most fun, though). Then, we sifted through all the reviews of hair care products to present you with this list of the best color protecting shampoos — from salon brands to drugstore finds. Not only do these shampoos make the most of your color and extend the life of it, but these hair care products also leave your locks looking sexy, shiny and touchably soft. They also have a nose-catching scent, help restore damaged hair and even infuse hair with lost moisture.

Like Redken a lot. Would also love to see L'anza and Aquage in here, too.

Pantene is terrible, so it annoys me it was on here for so many of the options. Its actually a cheap with cheap ingredients. If you really want to preserve your color, and find something that makes your hair look even better, I have tried the Shielo Color Protect Shampoo. I always color my hair just a bit, and this has saved me soooo much money on color jobs at the salon. It keeps the color and you dont see it going down the drain when you shower. The Shielo one is the only one that doesnt bleed color down the drain.

I've used the Color Me Happy and the Brunette Expressions and they both work great!

Whatever has no sulfates works :) Im using the same as mtaylor, that shampoo from a brand called pro naturals. It's really good and it makes my hair soooo soft and shiny. I love it and my highlights are looking good, lol.

nice options! I recommend the shampoo that I use and works amazingly, it's Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Shampoo. It cleanses and nourishes hair, restores damaged strands back to health and provides color protection, plus it leaves my hair soft, silky and shiny.

Pantene is terrible, so it annoys me it was on here for so many of the options. Guess it works well for others. Have tried the Herbal Essence, not impressed. Redken was ok, but I most likely wont purchase again. I would like to try to Ojon. If I don't like that, I'll stick with my Aveda Shampure. Not a color shampoo, but I love it.
