When you feel a pimple brewing ... Order an ice water with lemon.
Have you ever found yourself on a date and feeling the tiny bump that was on your cheek at the start of the night turn into a big, honkin' pimple? Ask your server for a glass of ice water with lemon. When your date excuses himself to go to the little boy's room, grab an ice cube and gently rub it over the zit. Makeup artist Carmindy Bowyer, author of "Crazy, Busy, Beautiful," says doing this "will minimize the swelling." Then squeeze the slice of lemon into your napkin and dab it on the blemish. "A touch of lemon juice will dry out a zit in a flash," says Bowyer.
my roommate curls her lashes with a spoon and the first time i saw her doing it, i thought she was crazy! but after seeing her nicely curled lashes, i guess using a spoon really does work :D
The toilet paper hint reminded me of this obnoxious person I worked with, you know the one that acts like she is smarter and prettier than everyone else around? She kept her toothbrush in a glass on the sink in the bathroom at work. I assumed she never read or heard that the water from the toilet could fly up to 30 feet at times. I always imagined that it was all over the toothbrush that she used.
I've heard of the spoon one before in an article about a celebrity. The others were mostly new though. Thanks!!
I'm loving this site. So many helpful/interesting articles!!
Great tips except for the credit card between the teeth. I don't even want to think about how many germs are on my card. I'm not putting it anywhere near my mouth.
Some of these are helpful, and some are less so... who carries around match boxes? Also, before you stick a business card or credit card in your mouth, think about all the hands that have touched it. Ick.
