Step backs • Stand with your feet shoulder width apart.
• Hold one 15-pound weight in your right hand and hold it at your shoulder (parallel to your body).
• Step back with your left foot bending your knees until you're in a lunge position. Make sure your front knee doesn't extend over your toes.
• Step back up and squeeze your glutes.
• Repeat nine more times, for a total of 10.
• Switch sides; place the weight in your left hand and step back on your right. Again, do 10 repetitions.
I agree with postpartumpunk! Lifting heavier gives you SO much better results. It disappoints me seeing women constantly led to believe that we have to do wimpy workouts just because we are the gentler sex. Start smaller with more reps and work up to larger weights with less reps. Trust me, you won't get a man body.
Hahaha, deadlifts with those tiny non-weights? give me a break. Show me a good booty and I'll show you a woman who can squat her bodyweight and deadlift twice as much.
A great way to also tone your inner thighs while doing lunges is before going into the lunge after standing, take the leg that you're going to put behind you, and swing it forward and around to behind you and going into your lunge from there. While you're swinging your leg around, keep it as high as you can while keeping your leg straight. This will also help with your flexibility. I had been doing this without the pause in between and doubling it as a cardio work-out. The only thing with doing this, is you probably want to have something to hold on to (I use either a chair or my fridge door) with your opposite hand for balance.
Thank you! I'm only 21 but have the nastiest cellulite ever so I really needed help finding exercises for my butt and thigh area. I agree with Minimisfit on pictures that correlate to the steps helping people learn, I'm definitely a visual learner.
Seems to be pretty good excercises but not when you don't have eqipment or money to ge any. Are there any other excercises for the backside that doesn't repuire equipment??
I've tried almost all of these exercises. They work but you won't see results right away. You have to keep at it for awhile to get the butt you desire :)
i'm sure these will work, but for those, like myself, who don't/haven't really worked out, some of these could have been explained a little better. i suppose i could "google" them for a better, more detailed description. now to do that, and get on to working out my butt...
I've been in a kickboxing class recently and trust me these exercises work!!! If your looking for easy I would suggest the bridge, with the ball of course!! Happy Workouts! :)
