After a while it becomes one of my favorite

    by anhb82 (1 review)
I was recommended this product and bought it long time ago. It has the warming effect and does make the pores smaller. From the direction, there are two ways of using this, one is to rub it directly to the face, the other was rub it on wet finger until warming effect occur, then rub it into the face. At first I want the bes...t result, so I always rub it into my face. But then after each use my face turns into super red and got burned, and my skin look terrible for a day or so. After that I tried the second way, rub it on my wet finger first until I get the warmth I want, then rub it into my face. Now the warmth is much milder but the tightening effect is still there. So if you can find out how much warm your skin can tolerate then this product works great. I think this does help a great deal with making my pores look smaller. I do consider buying another one after I finish mine. The only reason for 9 instead of 10 is that it dries out my skin, so usually I need to apply moisturizing lotion right afterwards to keep my skin hydrated. March 14, 2009, 10:44 pm

Too harsh for my sensitive skin

I received a large sample of this as a GWP. As other reviewers have noted, it does get warm and can make skin red and irritated. I have sensitive fair skin that is prone to such reactions. Fortunately, on me the redness dissipates after half an hour or so, but I wouldn't purchase this for myself. One thing I have learned fr...om Paula Begoun is that excessive warmth (the kind that makes skin red) is bad for skin. Ingredients: calcium chloride, dimethicone, isononyl isononanoate, hydrogenated lecithin, sodium cocoyl isethionate, isododecane, polysilicone 11, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 20, cellulose, polyethylene, salicylic acid, acetyl glucosamine, octyldodecanol, chamomilla recutita, silica, caprylyl glycol, peg-2m, blue 1 lake, yellow 5 lake. Forget About It!

    by JonelleLee (3 reviews)
I have tried all of the new pore minimizer products from Clinique. This is the worst product yet. If you are in the shower, the product will easily slip off of your hand. When you do get it to stay on your hand and get it wet, it heats up. That is about it. I found it difficult to spread on my face. The heat effect wa...s kind of neat, but it irritated my skin and I did not see or feel a difference on my skin. Estee Lauder (sister company) has their version of this thermal skin refiner. Don't bother with that one either. The heat is neat, but it does absolutely nothing for your skin. December 1, 2007, 10:48 am

This is one product I wouldn't purchase for myself.

I was given this as a gift so I didn't purchase it, otherwise I would've felt like I wasted money on it. I have sensitive, combination skin and wanted to see if this product was going to shrink a few large pores I had on the oily T-zone areas. Upon application, the product gets warm and then it gets pretty uncomfortable as... it felt like it was burning my skin. I didn't see any difference in pore size either. I'd rather just use warm water to accomplish the same thing. Will not purchase. May 9, 2009, 8:25 pm

    Instant Gratification

    by mtn_anais (5 reviews)
This really works. i generally love clinique, but this particular product is going in the "never without" category. It feels great as it heats up and I can see a difference immediately. It's marketed to minimize pores, but it also shrinks acne noticeably. I use it as often as possible to get my complexion back... in shape. April 22, 2008, 2:50 pm

Just bought this product about a week ago, and after two uses noticed the difference. I don't know if it is my imagination or not but face looks softer and pores got smaller, at least i can;t see blackheads anymore. Very pleased with this product. April 18, 2008, 12:21 pm

    Great for occasional use

    by Val_2008 (4 reviews)
I like to use this in the shower. The warmth feels great on my face. Because I have sensitive skin in addition to allergies, it is not possible to use it all the time. Maybe that's why I don't get great results with it.... December 31, 2007, 9:21 pm

    Yikes!

    by English79 (3 reviews)
This product feels good on your skin...for about 5 seconds. The warming effect is quite nice, but but it quickly leads to a burning sensation. My skin was left red and irritated with pores the same size. My face was dry and flaky for days following use of this product. December 31, 2007, 5:27 am

    Not your standard Clinique quality

    by skeetlady (1 review)
The idea is that the product heats up the skin which in turn opens the pours so that they can be cleaned out. It heats up the skin alright and maybe opens the pours a bit but not sure if it works any better than taking a standard shower. December 27, 2007, 2:12 pm

    Use it on your nose

    by HannaNYC (4 reviews)
I love this product. I have large pores on my nose that I can't stand to see. After cleansing my face I just toss some of this on my nose, then I rub with wet fingers to let it heat-up. Very effective for me! December 27, 2007, 8:30 am
