CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation Reviews

Covergirl
I used to use Covergirl's foundation when I was in high school. But over time I found that it is very oily and caused my skin to break out. Once they brought Ellen on as a spokesperson, I was pretty much finished with the brand in total. That did not make any sense and she is pretty much the worst spokesmodel every-- they ought to bring back the beautiful Christie Brinkley. Anyway, I thought that this foundation was very watery. I like my foundations to be applied with a brush, and this was too thin and runny for me to be able to do that with this formula. I also thought that the range of colors was pretty limited, and they all seemed to have a pinkish tone to them-- where are the cooler colors, or the colors with the golden undertones? Going on, this foundation seemed to be very chalky with its finish. I guess that is supposed ot mattify, but overall I found that it made my skin look ashy and tired, rather than dewy or glowing, which is the type of finish that I prefer. The scent of this foundation liquid was also pretty weird-- it has a strong and antiseptic smell to it. It reminded me of cleaning fluid that you might use to clean your kitchen with, which is not something that I would not want to put onto my face at all. Another issue I had with this foundation is the price. I used to think of Covergirl as a bargain brand, but slowly over time the prices have been creeping upward, and I just don't think that quality has improved with that price creep. Their products are not a good value anymore. I am not of fan of this foundation and do not recommend it to anyone at all. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 18 of 63 people said helpful

Super!
This is my new favorite foundation. The color is beautiful, it applies flawlessly and evenly. It's full coverage without the heavy, greasy, oily feel. Lightweight, feel like you're wearing nothing at all. I've been wearing it for almost two weeks and haven't had one pimple or outbreak of any kind. I am now looking at Covergirl in a different light. This is a great product! — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 37 of 73 people said helpful

Review subject
I liked that the foundation color matched my face and made it look smooth. It went on a little thicker than I would have liked, but dried fairly quickly. It did make my face a little dry, but I like the SPF 20 factor. — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 45 of 102 people said helpful

Provides good coverage
I liked that this foundation provided great coverage and matched my skin really closely too. It was easy to glide on and blend in and once blended it almost matched my skin perfectly. I thought it had great staying power too. Compared to a lot of foundations this is a really great one. I just wished it would have been a little thicker. I still needed to break out the concealer to completely cover acne scars. It does look very natural though on, like you're not wearing make up at all, and I did really like that. — 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 23 of 46 people said helpful

I think it's good
I have tried a few foundations and this one is great! The formula is not as thick as other so it's easier to apply with fingers. They have 14 different shades so I was able to easily find a shade that matched my skin tone, which is usually hard. The foundation lasts well beyond the 8 hrs. I love that! The finish is very matte, with even coverage and definitely covers those annoying acne marks. This foundation did not make me break out at allI have tried a few foundations and this one is great! I did not find anything bad about the scent, I actually found that this was pretty much odorless. This foundation did not make me break out at all. I really like Covergirl products, and for how nice and good this foundations is, I think it is actually very affordable and you get well beyond what you pay for. I like it and I would buy again. — 1 month, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Pleasant Surprise
I got this foundation from Total Beauty to review, and found it to be really nice. I didn't have much luck with Cover Girl foundations before, so I was a bit skeptical about this one too, but I ended up liking it. It has very good coverage- medium to full, it is buildable if you do more than one layer. Goes on smooth, and has nice velvety finish- totally shine free. I have decided to put this foundation through a tough test, and wore it to parties, and it stayed right where I put it, and covered all I tried to cover. No primer or powder needed. This foundation reminded me of Revlon's Colorstay a bit, except it is not as thick and feels lighter on the face too. I like how silky this foundation is. The only small problem I have encountered with the foundation is that if you have really dry skin with dry patches it might be a bit tricky to apply it in a way that those patches are not visible- that's the price you pay for extra staying power. The packaging is nice, I like the pump, since it prevents the germs from getting into the bottle. I definitely can recommend this foundation for those who need long-lasting makeup and has something to hide. I might not go for this foundation for every day, but it will be my number 1 choice for long tough days and going out. — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 29 of 54 people said helpful

Impressive!
This is my first time using a CoverGirl foundation. Since this foundation is a “3-in-1” it is a primer, foundation, and concealer with spf 20 I did not use any primer, foundation, concealer, or setting powder but I did use moisturizer. This is a great product if you’re a zombie in the morning and just need one all around product (kind of like a BB cream) where you just apply and go. I love the packaging, my biggest pet peeve is that foundations do not come with a pump. This one does and a great one at that! It’s also a great value at a retail of 10 bucks and it’s a big bottle and just one pump was enough to completely cover my face. My color in this foundation is “classic ivory 810” and it matched my color perfectly! I do have problematic skin and a red undertone that is really hard to cover. I would label this foundation as a medium coverage buildable to a full coverage foundation. Usually foundations of this coverage feel super heavy and sticky but I found that it was really light weight and it wasn’t sticky feeling. I did wear this to work (I work as a pastry chef) and even through a lot of sweating and changes in temperatures it seems to last pretty well. I didn’t set it with a powder and did not use a primer as I usually do. So that was a plus a lot of steps skiped! At first when I used it I found it to blend into my skin really well but as time progressed I noticed it harder to blend into my skin, I applied this with a beauty blender (damp,) a synthetic brush, and eventually settled to it just blending it in with my fingers. This foundation is one of those that dries really quickly and so you don’t have much time to blend it into the skin. I noticed that it does settle into wrinkles if you wait too long to blend into the skin. This foundation also does attach itself onto dry skin, so sometimes I noticed if I didn’t drink enough water during the next day the foundation seemed to look more raised and didn’t blend into my skin as well as when I was hydrated. I do have to say that if you have really dry skin this might not be the best foundation for you. Like I said this is my first time using CoverGirl foundation and I have to say I’m pretty impressed, it did cover my imperfections, such as blemishes, fine lines, dark circles, and dark spots. I do think that with a primer or setting with a powder the foundation would have lasted from morning (through work) to night without a problem. I did notice it did get a little shiny and not as matte but I just used oil blotting paper and it was fine. All in all, I would repurchase this foundation and more products in this line. I do dock it one star for the dryness of the formula. I wish it was a little more moisturizing, but all in all I strongly recommend it! I’m so excited to be reviewing this CoverGirl outlast stay fabulous 3-in-1 foundation. This product was sent to my by totalbeauty to review! This is my first review of a product sent to me! I followed the guidelines and did not use any other foundation for 10 days after receiving this product. — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 21 people said helpful

It depends on your likes and dislikes
I received this sample from totalbeauty and I can compare it to my other Covergirl foundation review, which was for the type with Olay in it. This one tended to be more drying, which is better for those with oily skin, and combination skin. I have combination skin and on the areas that are dry and flaky (winter time), this will not work as well as the other one. Mine came in buff beige and is lighter than most of the ones I have. In this case, exactly what I needed for the winter, in terms of color. At first, I thought it was too light, but you can see it covers well and if you use moisturizer, perhaps more evenly. It has an expiration date and an SPF 20, for those who are looking for such an ingredient. It is considered a 3 in 1, because it is listed as a primer, concealer, foundation, and being shine free. It is a pump and I do like that, except this one gets slightly messy on the cap. I have reddened skin in the area which is flaky and dry, which tends to be very sensitive. It worked best, when I mixed a little of the Covergirl & Olay tone rehab 2 in 1 foundation. I would tend to like this type for my eye area, as it sets some types of makeup better. If you have dark circles, or made a mistake with resistant dark makeup, it may also be very helpful. I actually would rate this an 8, because it may not be for dry, or mature skin. For others, who like easily found makeup brands, it may be a nine for ability to mix and suit your skin type. — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

Great foundation
I received this foundation sample in the mail from Totalbeauty and I love it!! The only reason I gave it a 9 is because it was a tad too light for my skin but that is my fault because that is the shade I picked. However, the formula felt great going on, and it looked natural and felt lightweight. All of the different benefits make it an even better product. Love this foundation. Excellent Covergirl! — 5 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

very good
This foundation was overall very good. I have combination, sensitive skin with small patches of breakouts around my mouth and this foundation covered redness, breakouts, large pores, etc. It was a bit too much coverage for my preferences (I simply applied less to remedy this "problem"), but it still looked really natural and the color matched my skin perfectly. There are a couple of outstanding things about this foundation: it photographs really well, it needs no primer to stay in place all day, and it has a great matte finish that doesn't need powder at all. I apply my normal moisturizer under it, and it has no problems with fading or melting during the day. I also used it as a pseudo-concealer. It was buildable and covered any redspots wonderfully (without getting that dry look, bonus!). I would definitely recommend this foundation for quick, one-step coverage, daily wear. It is also a drug-store find, so definitely a good bargain for what you get! — 5 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful
