Oil, Oil Everywhere!

I love Hourglass Cosmetics so much that I recently ordered a "Best Of" kit from Sephora. I hadn't tried their "No. 28 Primer," but their "Veil Mineral Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15" is a dream, and so I supposed that "No. 28" would be pretty much the same. Wrong. I can't honestly recommend "No. 28" unless your complexion is more dry than the Sahara desert. It is called "28" because it contains ...read morefourteen essential oils, ten lipid-heavy plant oils (jojoba, rose hips seed, evening primrose, hazelnut nut, borage seed, kukui nut, sweet almond, green tea, oil, and cherry pit) and four vitamins. That's good news. But my getting this to behave as a facial primer rather than a major lubricant was unsuccessful. No matter how little I used on moist skin, it didn't penetrate but left me like an oil slick. It is extremely comforting in the midst of winter, but I'd like to see a woman who can carry this off under foundation without looking odd.

Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum

I am 60 years old with great skin however it is very dry. It was recommended to me by a salesperson at Blue Mercury that has over 18 years of experience in the cosmetics industry. This product is amazing!!!! Imparts a huge amount of critical moisture that is perfect on its own or with/under other products. I don't need foundation and use this product mixed in with sunscreen. I woul...read mored not recommend this serum for anyone that does not have drier skin....... In seeking a high quality product with lasting hydration, this has been a lifesaver for me.
