Totally New Experience
LittleBunny (393 reviews)I have never had a significant issue with facial hair, but I am always interested in trying a new product, especially one geared towards beauty, so I wanted to try this one out and review it! First, I really liked the way that it is packaged. It comes with very clear instructions so there's no confusion as to how to apply the product to sensitive facial skin. The instruction packet even contains a photo diagram so there's no way to make a mistake. Second, I was really happy to see the inclusion of the protective balm that you apply pre-removal. I have never seen this feature in other hair removal products, and I appreciated that this one came in a neat stick form that you can apply just like chapstick, rather than some messy, runny oil. The hair removal cream itself is nice. It does not have an offensive odor like so many other hair creams, and it spread easily over my skin. I liked that it was non-irritating as well, since I have sensitive skin and am have to be very careful about which products I choose. I left the cream on for the prescribed 6-8 minutes, then wiped it off with a clean cloth. I finished the process by washing the area where I applied the cream with water and my regular facial cleanser. After using the product, I was surprised and pleased to find that there was no redness on the area of application. My skin was indeed smoother and while it isn't a major beauty issue for me, it was still a difference, and a nice one at that. While I really liked this product a lot, there are a couple of things I would improve. I wish that the cream had some fragrance of some kind-- nothing strong, since it is meant to be applied right under the nose, but just a little touch of perfume would be nice. I would also like to see the price come down. This was a fun product to try, but I can't see myself spending so much money for a product that only affects such a small area. Other than that, I'm glad I tried it and I would recommend it to ladies out there who are embarrassed about facial hair and willing to pay a little more to fix it, because it works well and Olay is a brand I trust. — 8 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 16 of 18 people said helpful

Really cool product.
LipglossandSpandex (487 reviews)Olay’s new Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo has an interesting concept--you use a balm to protect your skin, and then a hair removal cream on top of it. First, you apply a little bit of the balm (it comes in a lipstick type tube) and rub it in for about 20 seconds. Then you apply a thick layer of the cream (it says about a small grape sized amount for your upper lip), wait 6-8 minutes (but not more than 10), wipe it off, and then wash the area with soap and water. I followed the directions exactly and found that it worked perfectly. I felt like it was really easy and very effective. I didn’t have any irritation at all, although my upper lip did feel a little bit numb afterwards. Other than that, my upper lip didn’t have any of the fine peach fuzz that it sometimes gets (this product is meant for use with fine to medium hair), and the skin felt nice and soft. The smell is quite strong though--it definitely smells like a hair remover! And just so you know, it’s recommended that you use ONLY on your upper lip, cheeks, and chin area (no brow area, etc.).The price is a little high (over twenty bucks), especially compared to some other facial hair removal creams you can find at the drugstore, so I’m taking off one star for that. However, I should probably mention that last time I tried a facial hair removal cream, I ended up with chemical burns on my upper lip. Those are NOT cute at all, and difficult to cover up with foundation. It seems that this is one of those times that I got what I paid for... Overall, I’d say Olay’s Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo is a great product due to its efficacy, non-irritating formula, and ease of use. I’m definitely going to use up what I have, and maybe even repurchase it. — 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 16 people said helpful

Buying Guide
10 Worst Hair Removal Products -
Not bad!
volta (516 reviews)You can talk to any woman and they can all tell you nightmare stories of hair removal products that they've used throughout their life. It seems like using such products like "Nair" (oh you remember using that, don't lie) is somewhat of a rite of passage for all women. So needless to say, I was a little nervous about using this product because of how much irritation hair removal creams used to give me. Rather than using it on my upper lip like it is normally for, I tested a small area under my chin, just in case something should go wrong and it heavily irritates me skin. Make sure to read the directions CAREFULLY. You may use the product on your upper lip, chin or jawline, but you should NOT use it anywhere else. Okay, so after applying the balm and the cream via its instructions, I waited about 8 minutes before wiping off the cream from under my chin. I have a couple pesky thicker hairs that are more noticeable, but mostly it's peach fuzz like most women. This product removes the finer hair quite well, but even waiting up to the allotted ten minutes max (normal time 6-8 minutes), it did not remove the thicker couple of hairs I had. I may just have to stick with tweezing those two pesky hairs. It seems a bit inconvenient with how long you do have to wait, so I recommend using this at night rather than in the morning when you are getting ready. I'm in the middle of a breakout, so I will try the product on a much larger area after my skin clears a bit more, now that I know that this product isn't going to cause heavy irritation and redness. I am quite surprised that the product lives up to its name, but mostly that SOMETHING is able to blow past the bad stereotypes of hair removal creams. A big bummer is that you only get up to 12 uses according to the packaging, so it depends how desperate you may be to use this product to determine if you want to shell out the money for it. I'm not quite sure how long hair starts growing back after each application, so I will have to continue using it to see. If it prolongs time of not having to remove facial hair, then I think the product might ultimately be worth it. — 8 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful
