I have to be honest, I didn't like this product very much. It was alright when I didn't have any other lip stains on hand, but the staying power wasn't very impressive. Plus, it seemed to transfer. I don't remember the name of the color, but I got the brightest red I could find. I actually prefer the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain because it doesn't transfer, doesn't dry out as quickly for me, lasts longer, and includes a lip balm at the other end. It is a little pricier, but I feel it's worth it. I purchased this for quite cheap in Work It Plum. While the colour itself is subtle and natural looking.. this does not last at all! In the above swatch photo I compared it will Revlons Just Bitten stain. After around 15 minutes I wiped gently with a damp cloth to test which would prevail. The NYC one disappeared 95% percent, while Revlon's disappeared 30%. One positive this about these, are that the felt tip is much more fine compared to other stain such as the Cover Girl and Revlon ones. Though these are cheap, they do not last that long on my lips nor hand in a test. I would not recommend or repurchase. I bought the color "persistent pink" and I admit that I loved the color so much. It's a clean pretty pink that you rarely get with lip stains plus it smells good and it actually lasts long. However, the marker tip dried so fast. I was irritated that no color would come out after I used it twice. I don't know, maybe I got a crappy one? MAJOR Disappointment
I was excited to try this, since I use a lot of their other products, and they're all reasonably priced. I put it on 1st thing when I got home (excited to see how long it would really work). MAJOR disappointment: I even waited a 1/2 hour before eating or drinking anything to give it time to set, and after I was done eating dinner ... looked in the mirror, and not a trace of the lip"stain" left on my lips. Major waste of money, and the applicator doesn't hold it's shape, making it awkward to apply evenly. It also smells like a Sharpie ... phew! cool product!
it's a pretty cool product. I like that it really stays only on the lips and is matte. I got it in Champagne Stain, and the color is a bit too bright if applied with the applicator onto bare lips. I like applying it on a thin coat of chapstick- just touch my lips here and there and blend with the finger. This way lips look more moist and the color is sheer and not too bright, and still lasts pretty long without staining anything. I also like the color much more that way, really freshens up my complexion. Nice
This seemed to last me all day, maybe not exactly 16 hrs. =. but it was still better than I expected especially for this product. The colors are great, it can be as dramatic as you want. The colors are buildable, very bright if you pack it on. Awful product
I only use long wearing lip color, so I'm use to a dry, matte texture. But this is awful. The applicator is nice because it goes to a fine tip that allows for precise application on the edges of the lips, but the tip is so stiff that it's awkward to apply to the rest of the lips. I tried two different colors and found them both to be very different from what they were shown to be. It has an odd chemical smell and it difficult to remove even with makeup remover or baby oil. It's extremely drying and after wearing for just a few hours my lips were very dry and flakey. Good lip stain
I bought every color they had in this lip stain and was pretty happy about it. The color goes on great, and it really does stay on well, but not sixteen hours. It looks great worn alone, but I often put a clear gloss over it just because I love the glossy look on my lips and it doesn't cake off. Last & Lasts
This is probably the best lip stain I have tried to date. I have never had a problem with lip stains drying out my lips & this was no exception. This is highly pigmented & the color payoff is amazing so you can have a sheer look or a more dramatic one. The amazing thing about this was that it actually lasted more than 16 hours on me ( I know I'd think I was lying too). I put it on around 10 am & didn't need to reapply. I ate, talked, drank, showered, brushed my teeth & by the end of the day it was still there. I even went to bed with it on since I couldn't get it off & it was still there the next morning (although it did finally fade to a just-ate-a-Popsicle look). The only things I could think would bother someone is that the color selection seems to be rather small & the stain it self has a strong scent. Love! A non-drying lip stain!
This is the only lip stain I've tried that has not dried out my lips! Granted, I've only tried drugstore lip stains since the first one I tried disappointed me so much and I didn't want to waste money on more of them... I read the reviews for this one and was pretty skeptical. I had not heard very many good things about NYC cosmetics before. This totally blew my mind though. My lips weren't dried, cracked, or anything after my entire day! All with the lightweight color of lip stain. Good for the price

Disappointed
I am very disappointed because I usually like NYC products but this just didn't work for me. I really prefer the Revolon Just Kissin Lip Balm Stain. I feel like it works wonders.
