CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation Reviews

Surprising
I always hear about how makeup artists have been raving about this so I decided to try this. I own so many foundations; which one I use usually depends on what kind of coverage and how much time I want to spend applying it. I decided to give this a try. I use shade number 350 which fits my skin tone surprisingly well just based on a guess. I use a sponge to apply this rather than a foundation brush because since it's a little thicker than the foundations I normally use, I want this to glide on for more coverage. I do like how it's light weight and sits on the skin comfortably. What I love about this foundation is that you can feel it hydrating your skin and it doesn't feel like your skin begins to tighten from dryness over time like with some foundations. It gives a more natural to dewy finish which I do like. Although the coverage is buildable, it's a little harder to get this all the way to full coverage. Make sure you moisturize and prime before using this so your makeup glides on perfectly. This foundation does not cake, but it can crease is you put it over your eyelid, so make sure to blend super well. It's about $10 per tube which for many people (particularly with normal to dry/combination skin) will like this foundation if they're seeking sheer to medium coverage. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 13 people said helpful

It's OKAY
I bought this a little skeptically because I don't usually like Cover Girl products; they tend to be very underwhelming to me and Cover Girl used to test on animals. But I'm on a budget and I was looking for something to use as a tinted moisturizer or to mix with my own moisturizer to use as such. Personally I think they should market this "foundation" as a "tinted moisturizer" because the coverage is sheer, maybe medium if you layer. I'm a 305 ("Alabaster") and the color is quite nice. I think it's yellow and not pink based, which is better for me because I have neutral-leaning warm undertones. I love the texture of the product- I can apply it with my fingers sans problem- and its slightly illuminating qualities. I use it over a face sunscreen because I'm really anal about sun protection, and it doesn't pill up or react weirdly like some other foundations. My skin is a little dry, so maybe that's why I don't find I have any issues with oil... but I don't think you would, unless you use too much product. Overall I'm really pleased and would repurchase again! We'll see how things go in the warmer months. I actually like this foundation. It definitely feels lightweight and it doesn't make my skin oily. It was really easy to find my shade and it blends really easily. When I put it on it covers blemishes but it doesn't cover my scars so it has light coverage but it's definitely buildable. Also, it's perfect for school because you don't look like your face is caked with foundation so I will continue to repurchase. I dont wear foundation at all I have little problems with my face and I was always told if you start to wear stuff clumped on your face it will depend on it so thats why I never got into face things. Although I have alot of face products and try them all on the spare of the moment to see if I like how they work I never found anything that I though was good. Untill I found this I love the way it give me a glow and not a dead matte look on my face. I love the smell and I like the fact that its not a full coverage makeup. I Love this foundation. If you are not a huge face makeup lover and want to try something try this you will love it! This foundation was actually very good. It really did feel like it was very light. It basically felt like I wasn't wearing foundation. I wouldn't say it's a "foundation" though... it really is more like a tinted moisturizer, because the coverage is light to medium at best. The finish is amazingly smooth and natural, I love it. The only complain I have is that it's a bit gross to apply with your hands because it's extremely sticky. And even when you put in on your face with a sponge, it feels really sticky before it completely dries. I really like it though, I would definitely repurchase. Overall this is a very good foundation. I'm wearing it right now and it feels like nothing is on my skin. The coverage is about light to medium. I believe that the coverage is build able but I've never tried to put more foundation on. At first, I applied this with my fingers and it looked great. But now I apply this with my elf powder brush and it basically looks the same! I wouldn't buy this foundation if your looking for full coverage. Or if you have very oily skin. Cause I have really oily skin and to my surprise my face doesn't really get that oily. I think that this was a bit too pricey for how much product comes in it. I got this at wal-mart for 10 dollars. For only 1 ounce!! So overall, this is a pretty great product. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful

loving this foundation
although this is quite pricey for a drugstore foundation, i believe its worth it. the formula is not heavy at all and provides medium coverage. this is perfect for natural looks and covering redness. its so lightweight that i forgot i had foundation on even with 2 coats on and after 16 hours. its great for dry skin since it contains moisturizing ingredients. i would repurchase. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 17 of 18 people said helpful

Good foundation
I really liked this foundation. It goes on smoothly and provides great coverage. It feels rich and creamy on my skin and blended in really well. It also matched my skin tone better than most foundations do. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Not as Great as Expected
After reading so many wonderful reviews of this product, I decided I had to try it out. It ended up being a bit of a disappointment. It does provide light to medium coverage and it feels pretty light. However, it was a bit hard to blend and unless your skin is 100% moisturized it really emphasizes your dry skin and make s you look absolutely terrible. Overall, good product but it only really looks good if you moisturize your skin thoroughly beforehand and then apply it mixed with some more moisturizer (which seems like a lot of unnecessary effort to me). — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Good for the Price
I really love the packaging on this product. The squeeze tube makes it easy to dispense the perfect amount of foundation. The foundation is light weight but has moderate coverage on discoloration and dark circles. It has a decent range of skin stones to choose from for a drug store brand. This foundation lasted thru the night on me but I did not do anything too difficult so it might not stick around if you get too hot or sweaty. Definitely worth the price if you are a drug store gal! My only complaint is that it does contain parfum, but that usually does not bother my skin and I actually like the scent. I might repurchase this again but I love to keep trying out new foundations. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Not really light and contains fragrance which can be irritating to sensitive skin
I have very sensitive, medium light, combination skin. I tried this in Aspen-I found the color to be slightly too yellow even though I have a golden cast to my skin, but not a bad match. It felt very heavy, clay-like, and drying on my face. It is fragranced and made my face itchy, which makes this a deal breaker for me. It leaves a smooth, matte finish and does provide good coverage. A little goes a long way. The advertising is a little misleading---I expected something closer to a light tinted moisturizer. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Light feel, weird smell
I've been using this for about a week now and I quite like it so far. I will still do an updated review though because some drugstore foundations work great fora month and then totally just try out. Anywho, this did feel lightweight as CG claims and went on nice and smooth. Very easy to blend, wasn't very big on the smell though. It has a typical foundation smell but also smells slightly of cucumbers and when the to mix the smell isn't the greatest. Another thing I question is the expiry date. CG claims that my bottle expires in June of 2013 when I know for a fact that the SPF would most definately expire before then. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 7 people said helpful

Good for younger skin
This foundation does feel silky and makes skin soft, however, it's a light coverage and not effective for anyone over the age of 35 or so (in my opinion). Therefore, it's not for me unfortunately. — 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
