Fantastic Color
SubCulture (228 reviews)I tried this for the first time in Cafe Noir/Black. The "results swatch" as well as the model's hair is lighter (dark brown) than the name, so it's not accurate. My hair literally came out black. After the first shampoo there were brown highlights. Very natural looking. I've only used this a few days ago so will update later how well it holds up to the 28 shampoos. I'm shampooing every other day and conditioning every day. Only con is the formula is thin/runny so difficult to saturate all my hair, I missed a spot on the side. I have long hair (1/3rd down my back) and there was just enough dye. The color came out fantastic (instructions for Cafe Noir states you need to leave on for 15 minutes, not 10 min.) I will try the Espresso/Darkest Brown next. Can't wait to try out the other colors. Update September 2011: I first wrote the above review in April 2011. The Cafe Noir/Black did not hold up to the 28 shampoos. It started to fade fairly quickly. I would say I enjoyed the color the first two weeks. After that it was too light for my liking. It fades gradually. I also tried the Espresso/Darkest Brown shade but would not use again; it was dark but had too much of a reddish tint to it. It came out more of a reddish dark brown. It's a good way to test out colors but if there's a shade you like you would have to dye every 2-3 weeks to maintain it so it's high maintenance. I'm lowering my original rating of 9 down to a 7. — 8 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Mixed Feelings.
luxylexi (234 reviews)Overall and initially i really liked what i saw. The color came out great, my hair was super conditioned and shiny, not dry. When i washed my hair two days later you could see color in the water in the bottom of the tub, i actually expected that since this isn't a permanent dye. What i didn't expect was for the color to stain my pajamas since my hair was still wet. Having never used a non-permanent dye before i learned something, and it's good advice i pass on to you: use caution around fabrics while your hair is wet. My towel is stained, my pj's and so is my pillow case. Other than that little problem, the color is great, it conditions hair wonderfully. One more thing, the smell of the conditioner it comes with is a bit funky smelling. I'm going to try Clariol Loving Care next and see if that does any better. — 1 year, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Wouldn't Recommend It
dorafisher1 (7 reviews)Dull, drab color. I used the 'White Chocolate' shade. Did not seem to condition my hair at all despite the claim the royal jelly would make hair glossy. Very disappointing. — 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
