    Keep the Spin Brush--toss mascara

Love the spin brush. Absoltely works--no clumps, a great invention. Honestly I never tried the mascara, as with anything that 'comes with' something else--well, they are pushing the gimmick of the spin brush, not the cheapo mascara. They should sell it alone to use with your own mascara. Genius invention!

For coated and separated lashes in one step

I just had to try this new mascara "toy." Please note that my high rating has more to do with the actual spinning brush applicator than the mascara itself. I bought it in brown (I'm fair with red hair) and think it does a great job of applying mascara. The spin makes the mascara easy to apply and totally coats all of my lashes. The brush spins slowly and it is in no way intimidating....read more It seems to stretch my lashes out as the mascara is applied, helping to lengthen them. The best part is that I don't have to bother with a comb after, as it nicely separates each lash as you use it. No clumping! However, I'm not totally thrilled with the mascara formulation it comes with. It didn't really volumize my lashes all that much and gave me a more natural, less glamourous look, probably good for more casual days. BUT, the good news is that you can use the brush with your own mascara! I have yet to try that, and if the spinning brush works well with my favorite mascaras, I'll be in lash heaven!

    Unecessary

The mascara itself is fine, nothing special but efficient, the rotating brush is more of a gimick then anything, it is totally unecessary.

Needs some improvement & there's a learning curve

For those of us who are a bit geeky while being obsessed with our makeup and skincare routines (ahem… that’s me!), the gal-gadget SpinLash rotating mascara wand may appeal to you. The SpinLash first caught my eye at a local Target store ($14.99), shortly after I was contacted by SpinLash themselves to test their product. The SpinLash mascara wand is billed to organize your dis-organi...read morezed lashes. It slowly rotates when the handle button is depressed. SpinLash comes packaged with its own mascara, which I tested twice, but got a few smudges (nothing too bad, but there were a few more than my fave mascara); so I switched to testing the wand with my own mascara. I applied my Mineral Wear mascara and used the SpinLash to comb through my lashes. Once I got the hang of the movement and usage, I had neat, defined lashes. Much better than using a lash comb (which has always seemed to create MORE lumps for me). Like I said, the movement does take some practice, but it really does provide some pretty definition! My drawback: the batteries are not replaceable. They are stated to work for approximately 90 days (recommended length to keep an open mascara before pitching it); after that you’ll need a new unit. I would love to see the company develop a greener, more eco-friendly option by allowing the user to replace batteries and offering replacement heads for the wand itself. Less waste, less packaging. Or possibly a rechargeable unit.

    No clumps!

I really like the spin function of the wand. It's great to get the clumps out . However, be warned, the mascara itself is awful. It runs and smears. The beauty of the spinlash is that you can use it with any mascara so I advice throwing out the mascara and just using the wand with your own mascara! It would be a better value if it didn't come with mascara and the price was lowered because the function of the wand is nice.
