Skin Genesis is a budget-saving face-saver

by advicesisterA (26 reviews)
"Genesis" means "origin" or "beginning." That's a fitting description for the Skin Genesis skincare line from L'Oreal, created to take on the signs of aging with technologically-advanced formulas. These face-saving products at budget-friendly prices look sleek and modern in their slim, clear plastic pump bottles with silver rings and wide white pump tops. The featured ingredient in all of the Skin Genesis products is a sugar-derived molecule from the beech wood plant that is able to penetrate the layers of the skin. It provides the excitement (and the results) in the Skin Genesis products. T...06/06/2008

    Best Anti-Aging Serum Under $20!

    by Frappelattes (25 reviews)
I love the Serum and Moisturizer combo! L'Oreal Skin Genesis Serum leaves my skin silky-smooth, but not just emollient-silky -- the skin on my face is visibly resurfaced and feels baby-smooth to the touch. July 11, 2008, 12:35 pm

July 15, 2008, 12:55 pm I did not have the best of luck with this serum. I don't think it was made for my skin type. I have oily combo skin that is acne prone. Looking at the ingredients I knew there was going to be a problem when I came across DIMETHICONE. I gave the product a shot anyways but only used it on my forehead. I do have some expressions lines in that area. After a few uses my forehead started to break out. I gave the product more time because I know that some products can cause break outs at first but then my skin will get use to it. This did not happen. I really could not tell if I saw a difference in my skin because of the bumps. Once my skin cleared everything looked the same to me July 15, 2008, 12:55 pm

July 14, 2008, 8:19 pm The Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate claims to work deep within skin's surface to help promote elasticity and boost collagen, and, on the surface layer, to rid fine lines and hydrate. While I'm skeptical as to how deep this serum actually goes, whatever it's doing, I like it a lot. This serum has definitely evened my skin tone, which has always been my main concern. It didn't take long to see these results, either--just a few days. My skin looks bright and even, and feels healthy and hydrated. I would even say that yes, my skin is more elastic. Plus, just using the serum and foregoing any anti-acne treatments has kept me break-out free. July 14, 2008, 8:19 pm

I am a pretty cheerful person but I have deep "smile lines" that, along with the slant of my mouth, make me look like I'm wearing a permanent frown; something that's always bothered me. I used this product twice a day for a couple of weeks and was astonished at how my lines diminished! After about three weeks of using it twice a day I cut back to once a day with little or no reduction of results. I know that this product doesn't claim to reduce deep lines, but it certainly is doing wonders for me. It is also very light and is perfect for wearing under makeup. This one is well worth trying, ladies! July 10, 2008, 7:52 am

June 21, 2008, 9:50 am it's different from other serums that i have used in the past. it isn't thick or greasy-feeling whatsoever. it takes less than a minute to absorb, and two pumps is enough to cover my face, neck and decolletage (because it all needs to be treated the same). have been using it for the past three weeks and my skin looks amazing! i didn't have any wrinkles to start with, but my skin is brighter, smoother and more even toned. i use it twice a day and my skin looks so alive. it was a little dull-looking from being tired, and this serum has changed that! for the price (around $20), this serum is definitely worth it and then some! who knew a drugstore serum could be this effective? it's fabulous! A Nice Lightweight Serum

I don't know how interesting this sounds to you, but for me, a woman past the age of 35, anything with "cell strengthening" in its ad copy gets a second look from me and I was anxious to try it. The problem I have with most anti-aging products is that they are too oily and/or heavy for my skin. While my skin is aging, it is still rather oily and it is always a challenge to find lightweight, oil-free products that are also anti-aging products. I believe I have found the solution with this product. It is lightweight and it doesn't leave me wanting to reach for the blotting paper. I only used it for a week so, at this point I cannot say whether or not it makes my skin look younger, but after passing my initial test, it definitely deserves more consideration. I will continue using it and I look forward to seeing some results! June 16, 2008, 9:30 am

    Good

    by BeamerCG (120 reviews)
I've been using this for weeks now and I've noticed that my skin is more moisturized and my fine lines a little lighter. It's one of the cheaper serums out there. It absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. This works really well if you put it on and then use the body shop's vitamin moisture mask! October 5, 2008, 6:17 pm

I found that using it continuously made my skin a LOT smoother. -L'Oreal Daily Moisturizer Oil Free Lotion (won Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty "Beauty Breakthrough" Award, $24) - A unique lightweight, oil-free hydrator that smooths skin's surface and evens tone for a more flawless complexion. I like the light rosy smell of it, it fades, but it's pleasant. The combination of the serum and lotion is not heavy in any way, in fact, it feels like you're not wearing anything. Both formulas contain Pro-Xylane and Hyaluronnic Acid. They absorb into your skin immediately and don't leave skin feeling sticky. I think $24 is pretty reasonable for a serum, I don't think you can find one for under $30, and I love the sleek tubular packaging. September 2, 2008, 4:28 pm

September 2, 2008, 11:16 am I recently tried both the Serum Concentrate and the Oil-Free Daily Moisturizer .Right off the bat...both products smell great. Almost to the point where I didn't care how they reacted with my skin.....almost. I tried both products together in the morning after my shower. I have to say that I did remain oil-free much, much longer than I normally do and there were no breakouts. Both go on very light and absorb very quickly so you don't have to wait around for a while until it all soaks in. My skin felt much smoother and I also noticed my makeup went on better, but I still used a primer. I think if I was in a hurry I would be able to skip the primer step and still be looking good. There are two negatives...1) no SPF (but they do make a moisturizer with SPF but it's not an oil-free one) and 2) there is alcohol listed pretty high up on the ingredient list....so if your skin is more on the dry side I would use this with caution or try something else.
